Hori Truck Control System Review
My first review video, so pardon how terrible the quality is.
But, after a weekend of playing with the Hori truck control system, here are my thoughts.

Nissan Hardbody series introduction

New (to me) Nissan hardbody. Let's restore it to it's former glory, I plan on completely gutting the interior and repairing it to like new condition. Installing a up to date head unit (with carplay). Fixing the headliner and upgrading to LEDs. Installing cup holders and cleaning the interior. Exterior will also get attention. Stripping it down and a complete respray with factory color-matched N...

Selling a clean little car. Nothing wrong with it, I just don't need a third car.
It was tempting to get this but for the price I ended up with the Logitech Equipment Bundle and I've been pretty happy with it.

Great review! I have the same trustmaster but version ferrari... Hory Truck Control looks amazing
Very good review, felt like I literally asked a friend in real life about the wheel he bought:) Explained everything I need. What do you think, if I dont really care about performance and play only bus, farm, truck sims, will it do a great job or should I save for moza bundle?
I don't know if I missed it in your review, but is there a way to float gears?
I like ATS a lot, have a steering wheel and switchbox from another brand. Did you know that if you have a (simple) webcam, you can use a certain program combination so the view changes with your head position? I'm not using it right now, but it worked fine in the past.
Do the turn signals automatically turn off on the stalks?
Cool toys and it would be even cooler if devs added an option to hide virtual steering wheel on the screen, so that on a big screen like a TV you only have the dashboard, window and everything else, but not the image of the steering wheel, since you have your own irl. UPD Judging by this video - "Picking Up Passengers From The Bus Station | ETS 2" it should already be available ATS, since in ETS 2 people play exactly like that.
Thanks for the video. I have a quick question about the gearshift. I'm surprised that it's designed like the one in the car. Shouldn't a truck only have 4 gears + reverse + LL? Also, would 1st gear be where 3rd gear is in a car? Then you shift up to 4th and then you can shift up with the lever and back into 1st so that you are in 5th. Furthermore, all these 10 gears are 1x low and once high, resulting in 16 gears. I hope that was understandable... Is this also changeable so that I don't have to shift 1-6 like you did in your video? Thanks for your feedback
The only thing that makes it crap it's not a direct drive system.
Steering wheel needs to be angled down a little more
Thanks for info. ! Helps my decision I like the system
Can you combine that steering wheel with the g29 shifter?
CRISMAS TO YUORS 🥰🥰🥰🥰👨👩👧👦🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎄🎄🎄🎇🎇🎇🎉
2025 YEARS😍🥰😇😘😘😘😘❄❄❄❄❄☃☃⛄☃🎇🎇🎆🎆🎆🎇🎁🎄🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can you put a different wheel on the base, if you wanted to switch games or is pretty only used for truck simulator
No. this is no moza wheel those can
Where is retarder stalk? I need showing and testing stalks only
can you please try with beamNG drive?
lol it's $600
Do you have to calibrate it?
It does a self calibration when you plug it in. If you're talking about mapping each button, I answered it in the video. Watch it again
My button on my steering wheel don’t work but everything else works? Any suggestions?
Did you install the driver first, before pugging it in?
I can’t get my anything to work? Any suggestions?
Did you install the driver first, before pugging it in?
i heard this wasnt direct drive but belt driven which does make a massive difference in feel, otherwise this is a great setup. Moza has a nice wheel but they dont include a shifter set.
Yes, not DD, just belt driven. But, let's be realistic, you will not find a DD pre-mapped wheel with shifters, almost 100 buttons, and pedals for 599... Unrealistic. So, there is some trade-offs, of course
I have my TH8A mounted on a bracket screwed into the bottom of my chair, with an extended arm. I really wanted a more immersive experience. I hope the will sell the wheel on it's own one day, I will def buy it. And I expect prices to drop eventually.
That's what I used for 4 years, TH8A, shifter, pedals and a range splitter. This makes it feel a lot more authentic
@@DONphantasmo It makes it a lot more fun! I also have the Saitek side panel, as a button box.
Thank you for this video ❤ I subscribed! 🎉
Thank you for your subscription. I will update with a new video very soon for a longer-term review and final thoughts
Where can i order this wheel
the website or amazon.
The pedals look very basic
Oh, they are VERY basic..
I want to get into racing like Nascar stuff. What's the best one to get. I have not played video games since i was in my teens. I'm now 50 and need yalls input pls help. Im so confused about all this stuff pls tell me the best way to go and what to get. Thank you so much😊
Diesel. I wouldn't get this for anything racing. It is a huge wheel with 1800 degrees of rotation. Think about a smaller wheel that will fit your budget. Lots of Logitech, Thrustmaster, and even the Fanatech or Moza. But, it is going to depend on your budget. Best of luck, Diesel.
@DONphantasmo ok ty
It is definitely a nice wheel! If i played only truck games, i would think about buying it.
Yeah, I will say it is specifically made for Truck games. Like, I wouldn't play Forza or AC, or driftX with it
man this video help a lot thanks i was a little lost 🙏
I'm glad it helped. I will have a follow-up video coming with even better information.
How wide is the monitor your using
It's a 34" monitor. It feels like a lot bigger because it is thinner
Have you tried it with racing games? My desk isn't big enough for two sets of wheels, and I don't want to swap back and forth. Is this better for racing and sometimes trucking or should I just stick with a normal g29 that I'm really happy with -- just wishing the wheel was bigger?
I have a thrustmaster T300 with 3 pedals, the H shifter and they are much better for racing. This would NOT be my first choice of a racing steering wheel.
I have the Logitech G920 with the H-shifter and was fine till the buttons on the wheel stopped working. I think it a loose wire, because sometime the light about the "X" button comes on when I turn the wheel and the buttons work. The Force Feedback works the pedals work and so does the H-shifter. I have been looking at the Hori wheel since it was announced but it is around CA$800.
That sucks about your wheel, hopefully you can get it fixed or even just replaced! But, this is great for the trucking games, but NOT for anything racing...
this things is like 815$ canadian XD it's quite expensive for one system only, using a truck, I understand that it close to the real thing, but let say if you want to play another game like forza with racing wheels you might need to get another instead.
Well, if you play only ATS/ETS2, this is the best wheel. I also have a Thrustmaster TR300 for my racing stuff. This was more of a "specialized" thing
@@DONphantasmo oh yea if the plan is to only play truck simulator then yes, however I'm someone who always enjoy a plan B. I got myself the Moza wheel base system and got the truck wheel with stick add on, I love using my truck wheel and then swapping to my formula wheel when I play F1
Thx
You're welcome!
This looks amazing! When you turn the wheel in real life, is the motion the same in the game? Like does the wheel turn the same amount as the wheel does in real life?
I know there is a way to get them to "sync", however, I have not found it yet. Honestly, it doesn't matter too much to me. But, I know it bothers some people...
Can you float the gears?
Yes, and I often do. But, I was demonstrating the clutch/brake/throttle. But, yes, you sure can
Is that simulator compatible with VR?
Yes. I hear it is amazing
Why not use head tracker like open truck ?
I will eventually use my VR headset instead.
Only 500 bald eagles seems reasonable compared to the 800 beaver tails
599 bald eagles, D3ck
What's better hori or moza wheel
Quality, Moza for sure. Price point Hori all day.
Butt moza take about 3 weeks get from them on web site I
What’s your pc setup
It's an old computer. I'll be upgrading very soon. I need a 4090 and a i9 processor. badly
I was like this is cool, then I saw you put it in reverse and pull off like you were in first, then I'm like, so close. 😂
You can re-map reverse or first wherever you want. This was pre-mapped to reverse being right and back.
How do you run that shift in Eaton Fuller 18? First gear you showed would be reverse and 2nd gear would be low low.. can you set it up for 18 speed trans?
I have it with whatever the stock setting are. Which are confusing a little. First is left and up (where R would be), Third is left and down. Reverse is all the way to the right and down. I think it is set up like a sports car. I know it'll upset a lot of people. But, I don't care enough to re-map it. Which would be very easy, but I won't bother.
Wow. Nice sets.
Thanks man
I love the long steering one i looks real
Can you put it on automatic or do you have to drive stick?
Totally depending on how you want to drive. Automatic or manual. You can do either.
6tdh4j4y r4hryhhr4 is a ❤❤❤❤❤❤ďhyh
I agree
It sounds to me that this is a nicely integrated package. Things that could have been mentioned: 1. Is there any provision for switching wheels; 2. Can you adjust wheel height or angle; 3. Build quality, plastic or metal; 4. How are the gimbals constructed, hall effect, plastic or metal; 5. Over impression on switch quality; and 6. Does it have threaded holes for mounting on Sim rigs;
I will do a part 2 and include some of these. Thank you for some wonderful feedback.
@@DONphantasmoI have been lusting after a Moza TSW R9 setup which also became available recently. The comments on one of its reviews mentioned the Hori offering. In my mind Hori seems to win out on the quantity of buttons front, looses on the modification for other purposes and adjustments fronts and its up in the air on the build quality front. Judging simply from videos and pictures it seems Hori is mostly plastic while Moza is mostly metal. Whats under the hood is more important to me than the outer covering. A good example of that is the Thrustmaster Warthog joystick. Its metal on the outside and a plastic gimbal on the inside. That's not what I expect from a system costing over $500 USD. Hori wins on price however I am willing to pay a premium for good quality and longevity. So I would say in summary , sigh and arrrgh ;-).
Does it work with Farm Sim?
No clue. go to their web-site and look at compatibility and see if it works.. I don't play Farm Sim (yet, maybe one day).
never heard of this wheel till this video, looks like it would be great for farm sim .. but those pedals do look like just crap awful.....
These pedals are my #1 complaint, lol. I will post a part 2 and talk more about them
