Honestly there’s more to the throttle body throwing the check engine light than just carbon buildup. You’re better off buying a new throttle body ($135.00) than cleaning the old one reinstalling it and getting the same error code.

I assume the procedure is similar to the clutch replacement on a Corolla 1.4 D4D MMT of the same year, 2005. The engine should be also the same (the glorious 1ND-TV). The original clutch pressure plate, for the Corolla, did not include the two holes. It is still on the market, it is the AISIN KT-073f kit (clutch plate DTX-152 and clutch pressure plate CTX-126) and is half the price of the newer clutches (in my case AISIN KT-320A or KT-320B, which both come with the two holes on the clutch pressure plate.). Acronyms and codes are boring, I know, but the version without holes, apart from being the original one, is given as compatible by all the sites that sell spare parts. You and others, however, are not alone in recommending kits that include the clutch pressure plate with the two holes. What is the reason? Are these official improvements recognised by Toyota itself? I remember that the first MMT gearboxes had problems with the clutch actuator and Toyota officially recalled thousands of cars (including mine) for an upgrade on the actuator (it was 2009-2010, I don't remember exactly).

Will work most times , but not correct . If belt changed previously and was not done correctly, say one tooth out , this method will replicate the mistake . Crank must be locked in the correct position with the tool , cam locked in correct position with pin , high pressure pump pulley locked with pin . Then loosen cam wheel bolts and hpfp wheel bolts and proceed from there . Dont want to knock the work here , if its a first time belt change , then this method probably good . If its a second or third time change , how does one know if previous job was done correctly . How do i know the correct method , because I made mistakes myself and got timing slightly off and got engine light .

I managed to replace both lower control arms. IMO this is definitely a two-person job. And there is no need to remove the front bumper. We removed the large tray under the engine, the front plastic cover that's under the radiator, and the radiator support. With this done it was plenty of space the remove the screws that held the aluminum struts. No special tools needed. We saved a ton of time my not removing the front bumper, that's for sure!

Anyone os the comments live in central NC and would clean mine 😂. Geeze. I was i was more handy as much as my car gets used. 5000+ miles a month 😭 my rpms have been finicky and jumpy and think my throttle needs to be cleaned

So not only did i just take my 2016 honda civic ext to autozone where all the diagnostic said was i had a failed turbocharger but i also had power issues that got better after replacing the (leaking) battery and the alternator because i was told that was bad (obv separate test) but these were all the supposed symptoms of my bad alternator and "not the turbo" but i then proceeded to take it to honda where they gave me a ridiculous quote and said the cars completely done for. 250,000(ish) and making the EXACT same clicking noises as your engine (never heard a more identical sound) and had all the same power and acceleration problem's but ok my car is "completely done for" lol 🙄 Should probably just cut my losses anyway... It truly isnt in great shape (including inside and outside) and im tired of it. Changed the canister purge valve from emissions related power issues just a few months before...🤦‍♀️
