When my daughter first moved back home with her cat, it was kind of stand offish as it did not know me very well. As the first year went by it got to where it would slept on my chest while I played on the computer. By the 3rd year, it let me share its pillow on my bed when we went to sleep at night.
Very interesting, as it also tells you about what being in heat is like as having 4 girl kittens, it's nice to know about this behaviour, though would like to know more!!❤️

I love giving my kitten kisses. He has discovered that nose bumps are our way of giving kisses, so he will do so a few times a day❤
I can't help it but kiss my kitty - on her head, on her cheek, and even on her little black nose - and more than once, a lot! And, yes - I give her strokes, massage her back, give her slow blinds - to let her know I love her, and even head-bunt her as she does with me. I've always seen my kitty-girl - and every other cat I've had in my life, as babies to me.

And that's the problem with so many cat owners: they anthropomorphize their pets. Your cat, as much as you like to see it as your baby, is not. I adore my cats, but I recognize that cat behaviour does not necessarily translate to human behaviour and vice versa. I've seen so many examples of people returning cats because "I showed it love, but it doesn't return it, I want another one" (I used to work at the SPCA - it's the ASPCA in the US) and it felt like an impossible task trying to educate well-meaning, but ignorant, pet owners of the dos and don'ts needed for a healthy relationship with their pets.

There are also outliers that make it harder to see what is wrong. For instance, a cat that meows all the time (like my cat Mischief), meowing more often than already might just be chattiness. On the other hand, a cat that's almost always silent (like my cats Spot and Spud), still being silent is likely just still normal behavior.
