It comes from the Greek word, hairesis which is where we get the word heretic actually. it means a personal choice. God’s people are his personal choice from the beginning to save them through setting them apart of the spirit and belief in the truth. And those people that God personally chose are held until the faith comes. Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. This is the real time when the faith comes that was already decided from the beginning. This is not a Calvinist thing. This is the truth of the Bible.

Great video. I recently came to fully appreciate this inside/outside Christ distinction more fully for myself. Even though I had the same belief as you in regard to Ephesians 1 for a long time, the power behind recognizing this distinction didn’t really hit me until recently. This is a wonderful “gotcha” to use against Calvinists because they are left with one of two options. They were either chosen to receive benefits outside of Christ which makes Christ less important or they were in Christ before the foundation of the world when they were chosen, somehow fell out of Him, only to be placed back in Him at some later point. So much for perseverance of the saints once in Christ.

I’m very much against Calvinism, but Jeff D seems to be a good person. He is very active in the pro-life movement (which actually doesn’t make sense from a Calvinist perspective). I hope that more Calvinists see the truth.

MacArthur saying that people go to hell because of their sin absolutely goes against their own doctrine of election if we're to believe they're correct, they'll be the first to tell you that election is unconditional, ie...before the did anything good or BAD, Jacob he chose and Esau was rejected. Brother you’ve misunderstood the determinism of God and the free will of mankind. Calvinism (reformed theology) never says that God determines us to sin such that He causes us to sin - Sin is our natural bent, it’s what we desire as fallen people. God doesn’t make us sin, we chose to sin freely and wholeheartedly! Calvinism says that none of us, by our fallen nature, will chose not to sin. That is, none of us will freely and wilfully turn to God in repentance and faith because we love our chosen life of sin (rebellion). We need a new heart that has God’s law written on it (Ezekiel 26:36) such that, though we still fail to live perfectly, yet now we hunger and thirst to live a righteous life that is pleasing to our God and saviour Jesus Christ. We are not privy to who the elect of God are, but we are called to proclaim the Good News to all people in the knowledge that God is pleased to involve us in His miraculous work of salvation. He knows who His sheep are, and He opens their ears so that they hear the gospel and believe. If we chose to disobey God’s command to proclaim the gospel in our lives and are content to live that way, then the sad truth is that we are probably not part of God’s elect as the Holy Spirit would not let us feel comfortable in our sin, but rather He would convict us such that we would change our ways. No one born of The Spirit is comfortable in their rebellion. If you mean that on a certain occasion we failed to evangelise someone and in retrospect are concerned about this. We do not blame God for our sin, it is the old self exerting it’s influence on us (the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak). God naturally foreknew this would occur and it will have been in line with (though not in tune with) His overall plan of redemption.

If God does not absolutely control all things, then who does? If God did not create evil, then who did? Is God using Calvinism to separate the wheat from the chaff? Is anti-Calvinism a new-age ideology meant to satisfy the modern-day Christian who wants to only hear about a God who is love and nothing else?

The Bible tells us to work out our own salvation and also tells us that both the willing and the working are from God. Trying to square that is like trying to square the doctrine that God is one and yet three, or trying to square that Christ is both fully man and fully God. The Christian faith is full of truths that have more than one side. Anyone who argues with a Calvinist by denying that God's predestinates man is denying the clear revelation of the Bible, just like any Calvinist who tells you that based on predestination we aren't therefore responsible to work is denying God's commandment.

If God is all powerful and omniscient all theist have a problem of evil. Calvinist concede the ultimate power to God. Everyone else’s has a God that stands by watching evil with full foreknowledge. Or one must limit Gods all knowing or all power.

I like how you keep coming back to the issue and not let Calvinists side track you, like they like doing. You keep going back to: did God decree that too? That´s basically the only argument you need to get good at when debating or talking to a calivnist. Its gonna sound harsh but at its root calvinism is devilish. It tells people that God is in total control of everything, that you can´t do anything freely, that God hates some and loves others, that God decides to send even the unborn to hell and that He is basically at blame for every evil in the world. So yeah, its satanic.

This is why i consider 5 point Calvinism blasphemous. It paints a picture of a bipolar God who predetermined WHATSOEVER COMES TO PASS, including every foul and disgraceful sin a man can do, and every foul and horrific thing a man can do to another human being, or animal or whatever! Yet, in the bipolar world of Calvinism, god remains holy and blameless. So, how do you square a circle? It's an outrage to say the good and holy God of the Bible is predetermined, with specificity, every evil act, and action, including the "means."

I have decided that Calvinists preach a different gospel. Not the Gospel if salvation through faith, but the gospel of God's sovereignty of those he elects and damning everyone else. Making the life, death, and resurrection pointless. Which is clearly the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus.

I just want to point out that some of the greatest missionaries in history were Calvinists: William Carrey, Adoniram Judson, Jonathan Edwards (who died on the missions field), George Whitefield, and John Paton (just to name a few). Other famous Calvinist evangelists include Charles Spurgeon, and even our contemporary John MacArthur. And Paul Washer has a very large and very successful world missions organization called Heartcry Missionary Society. Regardless of Piper’s answer to this question (he’s got weird theology even by Calvinist standards), Calvinists are not anti-missions or anti-evangelism. That simply flys in the face of history. Calvinists have been on the frontlines of world missions throughout history. And I doubt any other current conservative, evangelical pastor has a larger impact on world missions today than John MacArthur. You might disagree with Calvinism, as I do, but John Piper most assuredly is not the standard bearer for that group.

John McArthur is a wicked, wicked false prophet who teaches Calvinism and Lordship Salvation-both damnable heresies. John McArthur is probably the best example of a false prophet described in the New Testament. Extremely popular and influential. He speaks a lot of Christian jargon, so he appears to be a Christian, but out of his mouth, he speaks lies. It's scary to think, for someone who believes in Calvinism and struggling, if they are truly saved. Because faith isn't what saved them. They may wonder if there is ongoing sin that they may not have saving faith that God gives.

I would encourage you all to read your bibles. There are scriptures that support arminianism, yes. However there are so many more that support calvinism. Do you just ignore those scriptures? You would have to in order to accept these teachings. Read your bibles people. I pray for you all.
