Poland is a family United in blood and United in Christ. It is part of a larger Indo-European family. They have to protect themselves from demographic change. They have the right to defend against foreign interference. The jews do not belong in Poland. Or anywhere in europe

Stop it we cannot have jews in Poland again. Please they are picking themselves up at the moment. Please you have Israel, poles have Poland. We cannot play this game any more. I love all people including Jews. It is this love that leads me to plead with you. This is not an easy ask but we need to be around our own family and people. We need to make amends with our neighbors. We need to stabilize the old European battlegrounds. Please let Poland play its roll and let it be polish.

I wish I would’ve seen this video 3 years ago. I have watched SO MANY videos regarding Sephardic history and testimonies from the same videos and I’ve come to several conclusions regarding this prophetic Ezekiel 37 manifestation: 1/ It’s been more of an awakening with the Hispanics of my/our generations e.g. late Baby Boomers and early Gen-X’rs like myself. 2/ It usually affects the spirit of at least one soul per family unit. 3/ Most of your family will verify an occult opinion that family members may have already had I.e. they always knew you were crazy or delusional 😊 4/ The affected soul usually has higher intelligence than the rest of the family but is usually the most humble person in the family. I could go on and on but I must say this: 2 of your videos which are the only 2 that I have watched have brought me confirmation that Adonai has me on the right path and that the people that I have also helped to identify their true self haven’t been misled because of a “personal whim.” A VERY quick personal testimony: I have known with ABSOLUTE knowledge and certainty about my Sefardic ancestry since October of 1976 while reading aloud to my 4th grade classmates, an excerpt from our US History book that actually talked about the Conquistadors and the Marranos. Let me refresh your memory to the early 70’s: Our textbooks came from Houghton-Mifflin and the contents of this particular history was probably beyond the scope of the German teachers that I had being educated in Chicago. I would LOVE to get in touch with you and Dr Maldonado who happens to be from the same Puerto Rucan hometown as my mother’s family who have NEVER been catholic.

I am an "Anglo" American and I have been researching my ancestry and have come to find many Jews(or people with Jewish ancestry anyway) in there. I didn't know until this past week that my great grandfather was of mainly Jewish ancestry. His(and my) paternal lines are the R1b haplogroup and they go back to the Irish Kings but in around 1400 my forefather married a woman with Jewish ancestry and they continued marrying people with Jewish ancestry pretty much all the way to my g grandfather-though they were Christians by religion. I had never really known about how much of an impact 1066ad had on Britain and the Jews that William the Conqueror had given lands and titles to. Like half of even my Anglo ancestors seem to go back to these main families like Gordon, Livingstone, Stanley, Stewart, Beauchamp, de Brus, etc. I wonder if Jews and British people are aware of these ancestral connections? Pretty neat. Thanks for all you do!

Reminds me of a one-semester course I used to teach at MIT - in which we attempted to give graduate students the ability to comprehend Russian written material IN THEIR FIELD (we had the same courses for French and German and I believe Spanish). We taught them the alphabet and a minimal amount of grammar, and then had them do a LOT of reading of texts in their field. If the student really cared, s/he could learn enough in the space of one semester to really really read things in their field. And most did learn enough to pass their exam in a foreign language, required in order to get an advanced degree. One student really wanted it as a "doorway" to understanding the names and sometimes the texts of songs he encountered in international folk dancing - he's still around and active, and I think his Russian training to this day stands him in good stead!

Is there anything else known about the Galimidi surname? My grandmother was once told by her uncle that there were 2 Galimidi families in Constantinople that were not related to each other (probably were related many many years ago). My great grandfather's surname was Galimidi and I don't know much about his family past his parents. Was surprised to also see that the origin of the Galimidi surname was Romaniote. I thought it was Sephardic.

your information is basic, good job, however you are lacking in depth knowledge, I am a descendent of crypto Jews for the state of Sonora Mexico, my grandfather is of Welsh descent, my mother is of ctyptot Sonora, I am a historian of the State of Sonora, also form Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. I have recently visited ranching villages of Sonora, these villages have traditions of Jewish traditions from the 1600 century, I was there, these people are Christians, however they show Jewish traditions of names such as Moses, Abraham, Rachel, not common Christian names, I spoke with as Grandmother who stated her grandmother practiced a tradition of lighting candies Friday night and reciting a prayer with a shawl over her head, I have lived in the State of Sonora for 45 years, I have lots of knowledge.. Like thousands of people we discovered our Jewish heritage when we found my grandmother who had been buried in an unmarked grave who had not been visited or remembered for 80 years. This led to my daughter and I officially "returning" to our heritage in Nov. 2012. We found our maternal ancestors are connected to the Gormezano family in Spain and Amsterdam as are my husband's ancestors from Palermo Sicily. We are descendants of the Anusim (the forced ones) and the Crypto Jews (converts to the Catholic faith who practiced their Jewish heritage in hiding) during the siege of the Spanish Inquisition that lasted 350 years. We have fervently studied Torah and are enthusiastic and are observant SephardicJews today. I am presently writing our geneaology. Jewish.Gen has been and continues to be our major source of information. Thank you so very much! Kathleen Cullen Todora.

Hi how does Jewish community feel about adopted people? I found in DNA I am half Jewish. My mother was not Jewish . So now I have family tree linking to Jewish family, but they do not seem to believe I am connected , they are negative to taking a test to help me find who is my father. Is this because I was not brought up Jewish?? Without someone taking a test I can never find who was my father ! I.m 60 now.

    • @dbmgna3951

georgiegirlize Dear lovely person, I’m sorry you are struggling. Jews go by, live by Jewish Law, Halacha. This was given to us by Gd at Mount Sinai 3000+ years ago. The matrilineal line determines if you are Jewish. This relates to what is passed down to your soul and body. Though in the physical world you may have awesome Jewish relatives, from what you have written, you are spiritually and therefore physically not a Jew. My Grandchildren and beloved Step-Son are in your shoes. I love them dearly and pray that they be among the righteous of the Gentiles. I also pray that they should serve Gd in whatever capacity Gd wants them to and they should Serve him well. They as all non Jews are responsible for observing the 6 Noahide laws. An excellent resource is a book on this subject by Rabbi Solevechik. I hope this gives you clarity and comfort.

Adoption is awesome in Jewish law, Halacha. The issue, based on what you wrote is not adoption, but wether you were converted to Judaism according to Jewish law, Halacha. If you were, and it was done by an OrthodoxJewish Court, Beis Din, then spiritually and therefore physically you would be a Jew.

I'm looking for anyone with the name of Zambursky. This was my Mother's maiden name. I know nothing about this set of grandparents. I know that my grandfather died around 1914 in, I think London, England. My grandmother, his wife, died in 1939 also in London, England. I have no first names and no other details right now. They would probably have been born in mid to late 1800's, likely Eastern Europe. Also does anyone know where the name Benny comes from. This was my late husband's last name. His parents knew nothing about where they might have come from, nor anything about the name except "perhaps Spanish", which looking at their features could well be true!!

Its just a couple of months now that I have been very serious in tracing my Jews heritage since it was passed down orally through the generation. After watching this clip I can sense that I am onto something solid. Thank you JewishGen and its volunteers.

Good Intro! I'd recommend captions in more languages.

Just wonderful! I've watched the video (tearfully) five times and sent it to my kids to help them understand that what Jewish genealogists do is so much more than recording names and dates. Yasher koach!
