    I love Fushimi-Inari so much because even though it's this massive, beautiful, tourist-y area, it still has a similar feel to a lot of the small hidden away shrines in smaller towns. The bottom is absolutely crowded, but if you're willing to climb higher and higher, the crows slowly starts to thin out. It's just you, birds, trees, the wind, and the occasional cat or friendly human. Kyoto rocks, man

    Fun fact! My Japanese friends also do not know why the food is so big lol my favorite is the giant sushi. And also controversial opinion. Big takoyaki is always too soggy for me too. If you get homemade ones with a smaller mold they’re much better imo

    I'm glad you took the time to visit those horrific killing places. It can be very sad but educational to learn. I grew up in the city way back in the 60s and the S21 Museum was my former high School. Most of my family members did not survive and I had to escape the country back in 1979 and came to the US alone in 1981. Cambodia has come a long way since the civil war was officially ended in 1998. I've returned to visit my sole surviving sister who still lives in Phnom Penh since my retirement. It feels like yesterday and only memories live on. The nightmares will stay with me forever. Peace out from a genocide survivor in Minnesota ✌️

      For us at the time, it costed roughly 220 for both of us. For a country like the Philippines this might seem pricy, but considering there were three crew members who cooked us a massive lunch, as well as took videos and pictures, and went kayaking and snorkeling with us for a whole day, it was absolutely worth it. Three years and 20 countries later, it's still one of the top 5 things we've ever done.

    Indonesia officially recognizes six religions: Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. While there is no national religion, as Indonesia is largely secular, Islam is the predominant faith, comprising about 80% of the population.

    • @Bilbilaul
      @Bilbilaul 2 місяці тому

      Indonesia isn't secular state lol praying for students is mandatory, learning religion study is a must in schools and universities, we even have ministry of religion and religious court (for muslims only), also in the laws there are hukum kompilasi which includes Islamic rules but again it's only applies to muslims in religious court, while for non muslims it still follow civil law in civil court. Secular means religion and state must be separate which isn't the case in Indonesia

    • @ReeceAdorer
      @ReeceAdorer 2 місяці тому

      Reflect on the concept of a secular state. In a secular system, amendments and laws are not based on specific religious teachings. For example, consider Malaysia, where constitutional provisions explicitly incorporate Islamic teachings and laws.

    • @Bilbilaul
      @Bilbilaul 2 місяці тому

      @@ReeceAdorer well that's where you're wrong . There's "Pengadilan Agama" and "Pengadilan Sipil" which is Islamic court and Civil court. In Pengadilan Agama all the Islamic matters such as Pernikahan, Perceraian, Warisan, Hak Asuh, etc would held places not in Pengadilan Sipil. And the laws and regulations in Pengadilan Agama is fall under Hukum Kompilasi which made the civil court let Pengadilan Agama to follow the decision based on Islamic law . Again only for Muslims. While for non muslims all those things will fall under civil court

    • @ReeceAdorer
      @ReeceAdorer 2 місяці тому

      Please take the time to understand the meaning of ‘constitutional amendment.’ While Indonesia is not as secular as most European countries, it is also not a country that bases its amendments on the teachings or laws of a specific religion. Once again, it’s important to distinguish between laws and amendments.

    • @Bilbilaul
      @Bilbilaul 2 місяці тому

      @ReeceKey952 Indonesian law and amandement using Dutch laws and constitution. But after the independence, the constitutions also mix it and allowing certain laws like Islamic and Cultural laws to bleed in into the constitution so it can be more suitable for the people and not fully using the Dutch laws 100%. That's why according to constitution certain law like hukum agama and hukum adat are being recognized by the state

    Great video you two! There is a slight correction however. Islam is not the national/official religion of Indonesia Indonesia officially recognize at least 5 religions: Islam, Christianity (Protestant & Catholic), Hindu, Buddhism, and Confucianism

      Good catch, I suppose why I should have said is that Islam is the most prominent religion, not that it is the only one recognized by the government. We felt as though the different religions in Indonesia got along well, which made us happy to see! ~Michael
