I Learned This Chopin Etude in 7 Days
After being in a practicing rut for the last 2 years (sigh), I wanted to change things by learning a Chopin etude in 7 days.
An actually good performance: ua-cam.com/video/N6Sg9qE2Dpk/v-deo.html

Lately, I've been really busy and thus did not have time to upload on UA-cam. I will try to upload a more complex and longer piece next week. Today, I played Minuet in G major by Christian Petzold which I think is a famous piece that many people have heard of.

This is the first video on this channel! I play Impromptu In A Flat Major by Frederic Chopin.
Very good!
bro...
hey wait didnt we go to the same elementary school??😭 i just got this on my recommended
Beautiful
When I first saw this video, I really didn't know anything about music. Since then, I have gained a significant amount of knowledge, and I can actually apricate what's going on.
nice
unintentional rubber
you didn't make any more videos 😭 guess your just a 1 video wonder 😢
Funny ass video
If I practiced as efficient as you did, I could get full scholarship. From zero to memorizing whole piece in 7 days.. OMG... Incredible!!
I love that your video is 10:25 and that's Georges Bizet's birthday! (You also use his music throughout) Bizet was an excellent pianist.
it was the easiest since you have the gait to motivate said mastery. Think of horse riding?
Great job 👏👏 What's the Name of the music in 01:40 ??
Dear Patrick, So, I subbed. I thought I would do this because: - I can’t play piano that well. - I have more subs than you. Mind you, this one video gets nearly as many views as all of mine put together. Therefore my attempt at smugness falls rather flat! I will return with equally pointless observations another time. Thank you. Regards, Z
By the way, excellent video!!!
UA-cam has blessed this video
BRAVO !! Jouer par cœur et correctement cette étude en une semaine est une belle performance ! Et votre vidéo est très drôle et amusante. Super !
Opus 10 no.8 ???
Opus ? Number ?
10/8
Love the video, and great sense of humor. Btw for this etude, I really like Aristo Sham’s performance in the chopin competition!
Sneaking in La Campanella at 4:27 is so relatable Lmaooo
now think if you spent another week practicing you could clean this up nice
Many pianists play this Etude as fast as possible which loses its magic. Pletnev, Horowitz and Kantarow focus on a fantastic 'Legato' with very little sustaining pedal and definitely not as fast as possible. the smooth legato without sustaining pedal and an accented left hand brings out the magic.
Art is not sport and not about records, why would anyone wand to beat learning processes records? t's about deeply understanding piano scores, being possessed by the power of music, not playing them or learning them as fast as possible, just to show off what's even the point???
Because it's fun
Ok. Play it upside down then.
bro these results in a week are pretty fire ngl KEEP IT UP 🔥🔥🔥🔥
the random rush e is so real
The sneeze was so real. Subscribed! Nice job!
Amazing!
Here before 1k subs! (I'm the 800th one lol)
Dan thats crazy, good job! In just 7 days this is really good. Give it more time and you'll have yourself a really polished performance!
Smart, useful and nice
You manage to beautifully capture the pain of pianists world wide. Thank you for your suffering for our entertainment :)))))
If I could learn chopin etude in 1 week I would quit my job and just play the piano everyday but I can't ;((( So sad I couldn't start when I was young cuz I was too poor and now I'm almost 29...
It's never too late to learn the piano! In the future, I might make some vids on progressing quickly and effectively in piano, since I feel practicing technique can be translated from higher level players to beginners.
@@patricklipiano im learning but I dont really have that much time. I try to play 1h everyday from monday-friday and 3h at saturday and sunday. Im progressing but its not enough for me 😤 Too slow
If you play a wrong note, make sure to back it up with more so that it seems intentional 👍
😅😂😂😂😅😂😭😭 you got me at minute 4:00
S tier video youve posted here, new subscriber obtained 👏🏼
Which camera are you using ?
iPhone XR
Love the production and the quality of your video! However, I don't find the fast, nervous and separate hands playing to be productive. Yes, you can try the piece in the original tempo, but it is in fact a luxury. Of course I see you can play beautifully, but I think the visitors of the channel must first be aware, that the study cannot be learned for one week per 80+ hours of practice. It is being learned firstly by the intellectual work which has been done. The legato lines of Chopin express phrase and not always legato (take Winter wind for example). Anyways, good job and stay safe!
you defo deserve sm more subscribers. :)
Why do we practice the exact same way lol I love playing too fast and making bad habits to fix later too
7 days ?...youve done so well I've been practicing these etudes for a lifetime I gave up before I lost my sanity
You just gained a follower ! Great video man
Walter Gieseking's method was to begin by learning a piece away from the piano. I've worked with this method, and have found it very effective. When I finally bring a piece to the piano it's refreshing to feel that I'm getting my hands around notes that I already know. As to what can go into learning away from the keyboard: hearing notes in the mind's ear, identifying patterns, visualizing the notes on the keyboard, one's fingers playing the notes, visualizing the score, etc. All of these of course contribute to memorization, and the more kinds of memory are employed the stronger the memorization will be.
Im not surprised, i learned the funeral march in two days. Only professional musicians can do it
underrated, need more people know this funi utuber
From 9:14 for me the most beautiful left hand passage of the entire etude. Its singing. Thank you for these practice tips! More more moreee 😊
Enjoyed the video (very entertaining)! And I still thought you did pretty darn good for a notoriously difficult etude!!
was a pleasure watching this !!
There is a difference between you and me: You: learned this Chopin Etude in 7 days. Me: I'm not able to learn this Chopin Etude in 7 years.
Very good work Gives me hope that I could learn this one This is one of my favorites!
