Nice video overall - well done! A couple of points to clarify - the viral filter serves no added safety purpose in either of these breathing circuits. The gas flow and scavenging are all one way directional - there is no recirculation of a patients exhalation back to the device. The 4 holes under the mask - you are correct on the two points - it will allow the patient to pull in room air (if there is not enough volume provided by the flowmeter) and it does allow for some pull in of escaped gas - but a third purpose is that it reduces the vacuum pressure inside the mask (which would be uncomfortable with the patient). The Silhouette gets a much better seal on the nose and if the vacuum did not have a pressure relief (4 holes) - it would be like putting your hand on the end of a vacuum cleaner hose! The 4 holes allow the vacuum to pull in room air.

Continually blocking the bag tee or kinking the hoses so that the bag fills to capacity and beyond will create back pressure and potentially damage the emergency air intake valve on the bag tee. The sound you are hearing is the sound of the vacuum (through the outer mask) - not gas flow to the mask. There will only be gas flow from the breathing bag into the breathing circuit if one of the following two things happen: 1 - the bag is filled beyond capacity (the gas goes from the flowmeter into the bag not into the tubing) which is not the intended use, or 2 - you are missing the one way flapper valve that is to be attached to the front of the bag tee. Lastly - the bacterial filter pictured - serves no purpose and adds no safety aspect in this application. Bacterial filters are commonly used on breathing circuits that allow for recirculation of patient exhalations back to a device and as a result potential for cross contamination. It is shown in the video in a position that is one way directional flow from the device - the patient exhalation cannot travel back upstream (due to the one way valve on the front of the flowmeter).
