Marketing is more complicated than sales?

Having done both roles, I'd say sales is harder, but marketing is more complex in terms of scope

When i was a kid, my teachers kept telling me *not* to use a calculator because it would deprive us of the ability to do math. When i was a teen, my teachers kept telling me *not* to use a computer because it would just make us lazy and dumb, and write our works with pen and paper instead of the computer or else it wouldn't count as doing work. When i was a young adult, my teachers kept telling me *not* to use or rely on the internet for research and to go to libraries, read real books instead, or else we'd grow lazy and dumb. When i was middle aged i heard people around me saying, artificial intelligence is going to make us complacent or if robots can do everything we'll become hedonistic. When i was a kid i used calculators and i never stopped wanting to learn about more complex math. When i was a teen i used computers and i did not become lazy nor disinterested in learning more. When i was a young adult i used the internet and suddenly felt like i had been granted access to all of humanity's knowledge. And it empowered me like nothing before. Now, i use AI and that sense of empowerment feels exponential. What the adults in my life never understood was they were always limited by their narrow perspectives of the time they themselves were growing up. Something else, they never understood was that, yes, some will probably always be lazier, dumber or hedonistic. And that has nothing to do with progress or new technology. While some will always want to grow, learn, imagine and create. Ultimately, technology is meant to make our life easier or improve it in some way. If what you want from life is to just live a life of comfortable bliss, well that's ok for you. And if what you want in life is to grow in knowledge, to expand beyond the limits of previous humans, to dare to dream and innovate, and then use all tools available to you in creative ways, that is also good and this will never go away.

Basically, i'm trying to say both realities, Star Trek and Wall-e, will probably happen and be true at the same time and coexist and that is alright.

I've seen no mention of this description, but I think with LLMs we have evolved from 'compute machines' with a one-size-fits-all output to 'context machines' that truly grasp context, sentiment and nuances in language for an intuitive output.

I'm not sure we can cleanly separate things into "reasoning" or "not reasoning". After all, there's no point at which a child suddenly becomes capable of reasoning. It's an ability which develops gradually. So I think we can say that LLMs at least demonstrate _some_ nascent reasoning capacity.

I think viewing test selection like a funnel is key. What are top level selections and how do they funnel downward into action items and trackable metrics that can further shed insight on your marketing objectives and success rate.
