the IBANEZ azes 31 is a very good guitar!!! Thank you for making this video but your game lacks soul..de feeling. It's very cold... too fast to have sensuality and very flat. But the AZES guitar sounds very good even in the middle position. It is just enough not to repeat notes but to put emotion in them!
I bought two of these... and both are the same... It has a good finish... Beautiful aesthetics and comfortable to play, really comfortable (it's the most salvageable)... The switch (alter), if it thickens the sound of the single coils... and yes, you can do more "hard" rock, but obviously it doesn't reach metal, unless you use high gain pedals (Dunlop EVH 5150 or Friedman BE OD, which by the way I have and take a sound similar to 80's glam)... I give the guitar 8 out of 10, just because although it is comfortable in every way, the "single coils" are a bit behind... Maybe it's because I compare them a lot with the Les Paul humbucker or with the Superstratus High Gain Humbucker... In short, we must assume that it is a stratum, that it has a single coil, and the "alter" thing is to "play" that it can sound like a humbucker ... or very close... But clearly they lack.
I love mine.
I don’t think these are lightweight, most online specs I’m seeing puts these closer to 3.5kg
Mine was 3.3 kg which is light for a Strat in my opinion.
Mine is 3.2 kg which is the light for me.

These guitars were made for more than jamming around at home. Sad most of these fine instruments never leave the house and do what they were made for.

Very nice guitar. I bought it one year ago, it's my favourite one.
I returned mine because the there was a horrible back bow in the neck which could not be corrected or neck straighted with the truss rod. It also had tooling marks between the frets and paint missing on the body. Big let down! Cheap switches and parts in it.
That‘s unfortunate. I didn’t have any of the issues. Of course the frets are rounded so you can see that somebody worked on them. But that’s a good thing because on most guitars in this price range nobody works on fret ends..

Yes, I was surprised that the pickups deliver all the tones you’d expect from an S-Type guitar very well. In this price range there’s normally either ice pick heaven or mud fest 😉. I use a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister Deluxe 40 with a 1x12 Cab and a Jensen Jet Series Tornado speaker in it. In the video i play it mostly with a Boss BD2 and occasionally with a EHX Glove pedal.

I liked it very much, but it wasn’t the perfect Tele for me. I needed a little more chunk in the neck profile. The American Performer have the „one size fits all“ Modern C neck which is not my favorite. But if you like that it’s a great guitar!
@@crawltochina I hear what you’re saying. I bet you’d like neck on the Vintera’s 50’s , they have some chunk but are still amazing to play. I think they call it a thick V , or something like that.
@@benallmark9671 Funny you‘re saying this, my main Tele after the American Performer is now a Fender Road Worn 50s in Butterscotch Blonde which is essentially a reliced Vintera 50s with Nitro finish 🙂. Now THAT‘S my kind of neck…

Great job, nice playing. I have this guitar and I love it. I had some problems to set the pickups height, but maybe it's because of the p90 design. Once everything is set up, it's a rock machine.

@@crawltochina Jo, hab sie gebaut. Muss noch justieren... leider waren die Bohrungen bei mir teilweise echt unschön unpräzise und Schrauben haben auch gefehlt.. naja für 80€, was erwartet man :) Ansonsten glaub ich reicht die als Signalquelle fürs Studio 😆

Oh, vielen Dank! Ja, die wurden beide mit der DIY Tele aufgenommen. In Ermangelung von Recording-Equipment habe ich in zwei Takes beide Stücke mit iPhone-Mikro vor dem Cab und einem Boss RC5 Looper mit Drum-Simulation live aufgezeichnet. Die Drum-Pausen und Fills habe ich dabei ebenfalls live mit Fußschalter am RC5 eingefügt. Sicherlich nicht der professionellste Weg, aber es hat funktioniert 🙂.
@@crawltochina Erstaunlich, klingt trotzdem super. Mir gefällt vor allem "das Minimalistische" daran. Manchmal ist weniger einfach mehr. 😎 Ach so, jaaaaaa... Die Klampfe gefällt mir auch. Wieviel wiegt die Feder denn eigentlich?

Can you describe the quality and any issues ?
Asbin thiing Quality is surprisingly well, perfect neck, stainless steel frets which are perfectly leveled, no sharp fret ends. The retainer bar is really bad, guitar goes out of tune all the time. Retainer bar can be removed and replaced with string trees. Then everything should be fine. The pickups sound ok, not more. They are very bity and a little bit harsh. The guitar is a perfect platform for upgrading, replace retainer bar, replace pickups and maybe the pots and switch and the guitar is perfect for a budget, with stainless steel frets and locking tuners.
