Of course, Dr. Bland is now getting questions all the time about GLP-1. It seems like everyone wants to hear his insights and tap into his knowledge base. Class is in session! Join Dr. Bland for this one-hour deep dive into the science of GLP-1, the concept of food is medicine, and an exploration of how modern living impacts our health.

Dr Jeff looks unhealthy. 😮 Don't eat his plants. Do eat meat, fish, eggs & some moderate dairy. If you don't eat his poisons, you won't his biological mechanisms attempting protect you from those nasty poisons. Skip the poisons and the antidotes. Look up low-carb and preferably carnivore.

That's what the GLP1 receptor agonists facilitate them doing. If people could "just" do what you suggest, there wouldn't be an obesity epidemic. You clearly have no clue how some people struggle with the drive to eat. You are very fortunate not to struggle like some people do! Please attempt kindness and empathy for your fellow human beings and refrain from being ignorantly judgemental.

Great lecture, I learned a lot. I like the focus on lifestyle interventions. I'm sure we'll have a great many people who struggle when stopping these medications. There are already studies on how much of the weight loss is muscle mass while on the medication and that weight regain is rapid once people stop them. Fat is fast to regain, muscle is much slower. Why no mention of therapeutic nutritional ketonemia? From my research, it is highly efficacious at reversing obesity and type-2 diabetes. I stumbled upon it over 10 years ago and successfully reversed my T2D. I find it to be highly sustainable and have yet found zero reason to discontinue it.

Hi Austin - I've heard a LOT about biological aging, mostly of late from Dr. Mark Hyman, but also from you and your dad :) I'm quite a podcast and webinar addict, so I get around. Wonderful webinar! I started feeling horrid in my early 60s (yes - poor lifestyle choices). I accepted the wake-up call and began my search for a healthier me! I cut out wheat, most grains, dairy, corn, and alcoholic drinks every weekend over the past 10-12 years or so. I started walking. I'm heading for 75 this November, walking about 2 miles 5-7 times weekly. I can stoop down to the floor and pop back up without help (many my age cannot do that). I have a good balance. I can stand on one foot for quite some time, and I don't think I would have been able to do all of this if I hadn't taken that wake-up call. I'm not perfect, I have fallen off the wagon a little in all of those years, but the difference is that I can get back on quickly. Sugar was the worst for me. It did NOT like me, but I had no idea until I quit sugar what it was doing to me. I know I went on and on here, but I had to comment because I think if people would just listen to their bodies a bit instead of running to the doctor's office to get a quick fix, they would realize what the heck is going on with their health, and try to eliminate some of the bad stuff one at a time and they'll discover that it was slowly killing them. PS.... I can go and go all day long, which I love because I love being busy! At one point, I was 30 pounds overweight. Now I'm 99 pounds, not skinny, I have muscle, but I'm only 4 ' 10-1/2 inches :o) so that's a great weight for me. I'm no weakling, either!

Complete falsehood about Okinawan diet which is loaded with Pork - every bit of it - the fat, skin, meat, internal organs and blood. Whatever vegetables they east are cooked in pork fat. Notice that these so-called experts don't speak of C15 which is found in butter and ghee. Also no mention of phyto-toxins such as Oxalic acid, lectins, agglutinins and other plant defence mechanisms. The term "whole grains" is nonsense! does it mean one must eat grains whole without cooking or processing?? anyone who eats unprocessed raw grain (or beans) will end up hospitalized or even dead!

Really bad dietary information. First of all the blue zones is a scam and the reality of it is they eat way more animal based than reported. The longest lived population, Hong Kong, eats a much higher amount of meat. Grains and Legumes are some of the worst foods to eat, as they are the backbone of the standard processed food diet. Nuts Seeds and Vegetable oils are highest in oxidized and oxidizable fragile fatty acids. Plants, as a whole, are largely toxic to humans, and the fruits and vegetables available in the stores are modern creations, hybridized to be full of sugar, and hardly resemble anything available to past generations. They are also highly contaminated with pesticides and glyphosate, so they are on the highest level of toxin accumulation exogenously and endogenously with anti nutrients, lectins, Phytates, Oxalates and other defense chemicals. The most nutrient dense and least toxic diet, and the one that contributes to overall health and longevity is the Carnivore diet, lower in Fish due to the incredible contamination of the oceans.

My elderly mother has aged minus 20 years (biological age) during the past 5 years according to the Levine Biological Age Calculator (Yale) based on her bloodwork tests. She eats a version of a nutritarian diet style. Her physician is a Johns Hopkins med school graduate currently teaching at a university medical school and she is amazed at my mother's health turnaround. This result should be the norm instead of a rarity.
