Need a new name...Ahasverus has a distinct history and anti-Semitic theme. Calling this by the same name is like titling your video, "King Arthur..." and having it about a new burger spot. It's a good story, however, just need a more unique name, or hell, go with Hershel, or 'Berries for My Darling.'

I feel that Sir: John Inman executed his character to its fullest potential. He was brilliant and didn't miss a Beat. I feel that he was thee one that put (ARE YOU BEING SERVED) on the map For! It became thee number one hit in America. I'm ecstatic that they brought it back now in 2017. Thank you Sir: John Inman and thee entire cast as well for taking us back to a much simpler time. There is one thing thee Queen of England forgot and that was to give him a title.

I just love this song - it's got a ridiculously catchy music-hall tap-dance groove, and I never tire of John's and his backup singers' clever double-entendre lyrics. I only discovered it about a week ago myself, while watching episodes of "AYBS?" here on YT. (It's practically the only "tube" I watch...and I was once a "regular" television addict, born and bred!) Since then, I catch myself quietly humming the melody and softly singing, "Are you being served, sir? I'm Humphries, and I'm free!", even in public. (I'm weird like that - if, like today, a song I like comes over the loudspeakers while I'm waiting for a prescription at the drugstore, chances are I'll begin singing along, not loudly, but quietly audibly. I even began singing to myself over an early supper at the mall food court today, after it was filled! FYI, it was the folk song "A Pub With No Beer".) I've always admired John Inman's appearance and behavior as Mr. Humphries, and in other roles. He was forever smartly and crisply dressed and while in motion walking across Grace Brothers' store floor, even in his wildest holidaying ensemble of matching pink-and-peach flowered shirt, jacket, slacks, and wide-brimmed fedora with hatband, as seen on the "AYBS?" movie poster. Only he could wear that outfit and seem absolutely natural in it. Some would think it looks stereotypically "gay", but to me, it's just flashy and playfully expressive, even joyful. From what I've read, John was a really good person. I would've loved to have met him - we could've had a laugh comparing me and his character, since I'm forever a momma's boy (and, boy, I miss my mom). He's forever free now, and surely the hereafter is even happier and funnier just for him and the entire cast being there. If you didn't know yet, search here for "Odd Man Out", his seven-episode sitcom he did for Thames. A broader, brassier kind of show, but still very funny!

I remember hearing this song back in the early 70's; my brother brought home the 45 from his trip to the UK. Still hilarious after 40+ years.
