Are these things clutchless?
The Caterham 620R comes with a Sadev sequential gearbox fitted. There is still a regular clutch pedal which you need to use for pulling away from standstill and for going down the gears (although you can just smash it down the gears without the clutch if you're a masochist). You don't need to use the clutch going up through the gears, as the gear lever has a 'shift cut' built in... so you just keep your right foot planted at 100% on the throttle and just pull the lever whenever you want the next gear. The shift cut allows the next gear to sync nicely without any crunching or harshness. 👌🏻

@@dstewusa7054 This is the 420R race car, which uses the 180bhp version of the Ford Duratec engine. Minimum weight limit (checked at the end of official sessions) is set at 635kg for the car and driver combined.

I am in the UK. Back in 2007, I purchased this exhaust from HallAuto.com Nissan in Chesapeake,VA. I think it cost me $1350 back then and that included the courier costs to send it to me.

Just looked back at the results. Race 1, Mark qualified us in 5th, we finished 5th. Race 2, I qualified us 5th, we finished 3rd. It was a solid start to the championship for us on a circuit that suited some other cars slightly better.

I like the way you “vee” off the hairpin at Shell Oils. I never figured why this works in certain cars and not others.
Allows you to get the front end in more to straighten the exit, particularly in a front engined car like this as when you accelerate it would try and wash out on the corner exit. The straighter the exit the harder and faster you can get on the throttle

@@TheCemaykan 420R race car has the sadev as standard, but yes you can buy it as a complete kit.

For the track, Caterham 620R, Series 3 chassis, Sadev gearbox, full roll cage, aero screen and a nice sticky set of tyres on 13 inch wheels! For the road, Caterham 360R, Series 3 chassis, 5 speed manual, still on the 13 inch wheels ;-)
