    My dream has always been to be a stay at home mom, on my own little homestead raising kids and cooking homemade home grown food and taking care of my husband. The fact that women think this is such a depressing life is ridiculous. Some of us dream of this life and just because you don’t doesn’t mean it’s an abusive, horrible lifestyle. I wish I could live this life, however my husband passed away from brain cancer leaving me and our 4 children to accomplish this dream on my own. Now I’m full time stay at home mom, while working full time on the company he left me in charge of. It’s extremely hard but I’m determined to fulfill my dreams.

    If you want to live a life of chosen oppression, fine. But shut up about it to everyone else. My mother chose to stay in an absusive relationship until death. She wasn’t giving marriage advice. They shouldn’t either. It’s so rediculous to try to push a narrative of genuine oppression on someone. If you want to be a farmer, be a farmer. But like… these people take it to an insane degree to the point of their family being a mini cult. Gives way to many other dangerous behaviors and dangerous thinking. I’m gonna shit out my window like an 1100’s peasant everyone else should too!! Errmmmmmm noooo. I’m gonna cosplay for a day as an 1100’s peasant, ok cool.

    While they weren't technically doing blackface bc there was no ill intent it still is inherently racist 2 do smthn like that, it's still wrong behavior, they just didn't know, the teacher definitely could've handled if differently by explaining to them how what they did is a bad thing in most cases and how in their case while there was no ill intent it's still not a good thing to do bc it can still very easily be taken as ill intent was behind it and is in general not a nice thing to do

    Teacher handled it wrong. I get where she's coming from. I do. If their entire faces were covered in black paint, sitting them down and explaining to them how that could be seen as problematic was all she needed to do. When you jump straight into, "YOURE RACIST" it's also missed opportunity to use what you know to educate, instead of accuse.

  • @Aloysius_OHare
    @Aloysius_OHare 7 місяців тому

    There is a FINE difference between black face and stripes. Covering your entire face is black face, that's wrong even if it might not seem like it but thats how black people were portrayed by racist white folks. It's not ALL the way black face, they're not trying to be intentional. POC don't want to see that. Its not about being OVERLY sensitive, it is the parents faults for not educating their kids that "BLACK FACE" still exists and that maybe they don't cover their entire face in CASE they get targeted. No one is yelling "black face" when someone wears stripes, thats all im saying.

    So many things. First of all, if the kids were a step away from blackface it makes sense to educate them. Her parents should’ve been the ones to do that yes but they should’ve done it sooner. Fifth grade is old enough to be racist therefore it’s old enough to be educated otherwise. I went to elementary school in the hood and the girls at my school would’ve beat my ass, doesn’t matter if I knew what I was doing or not. Secondly, people aren’t all of a sudden bringing race up every two seconds. We’re just now becoming a place that can talk about and appreciate poc culture.
