My first ever concert was ABBA. October 3, 1979. Boston MA. I heard them LIVE! They STILL sound AMAZING!!

I have watched so many first time listeners to this song and their reactions. Many get emotional and teary. The first time I heard it, I felt the same way. It was like ABBA never left us. Evoking that feeling of all is well again. For those who grew up in their younger years listening to them, the reaction is heart touching. I agree with those who hope more songs come from them. Gifting us with more of their kind of music may just start another generation of those who love this group. May ABBA live on beyond the norm.

Dear DionJohn, after more than one year now and living with the new songs of ABBA, this "Don't shut me down" is one of the songs that goes directly to my heart. That's the reason why I stil look videoa like yours with first time reactions. It reminds me when I heard it for the first time and I was in tears after a few seconds. You described it so well.... It's so unique and special and it was a gift for all of us who love the music of ABBA. As I am from germany I really wonder from time to time, because the material from "Voyage" is not so often played in the radio whih makes me wonder to be honest. They still stuck to the old material, which I do not understand... but anyway, your video was nice, I really love it! So have a good time and enjoy this "gift" as much as you can. Imagine what its like for a 58yo who was 12 when Abba hit the charts? AWESOME!!!!!!! "everyone loves ABBA"??? - back in my day i was persecuted and bullied for liking ABBA songs. Different times for sure now, and i hope those narrow-minded people have dragged their sorry homophobic asses into the new millennium.

I LOVE your 4:10 expression that you momentarily are overwhelmed with emotion ! :) YES, the layers and layers of "ABBANESS" is why I soooo LOVE Don't Shut Me Down and I wish the entire album had the same formula as this song .... no, I don't mean that I had desired a cut, copy and paste, but the song's style and glorious harmony is what I have always most loved about ABBA!

Great reaction video! I, too, cried from the pure nostalgia I felt when hearing this song for the first time. I am 70 years old, 71 in June 2022, so I was in my early twenties when ABBA were popular. For that I feel fortunate. This is my favourite new ABBA song. Thank you so much for posting this.

No, I think you're accurate. If you were born in 1983 then Abba would indeed have been your parents generation. Now, I don't know how old your parents are; but let's say if they were born in the 1950's.

All us fans want to see Emilia encouraged to step up and grab the baton that is going to be passed to the Next Generation. Look at her channel, she is no one hit wonder - she already has an incredible range of covers and originals. Including Debbie Harry and Frank Sinatra! Those of us who have showed up on her channel to see what the fuss is about are totally blown away - and feel priviledged that we are seeing a new star being born - so please come along and share the moment. Emiliy plays guitar (various), keyboard, drums and does her own production. Emiliy could be a perfect way for ABBA to create a flesh legacy and not have to rely on pixels to close the 4 decade gap. An "iconic moment in music history" ...a band that were MASSIVELY successful for more than a decade coming back, in their mid 70s, full line up and sounding exactly like they did when they left the stage nearly 40 years ago? ;-) I don't think this has ever been done before. I felt your emotions. Massive thumbs up. ps. this song made me buy a new pair of studio headphones, and I *have* been listening to it on repeat :-)
