This is a one-sided argument. The Vikings organization is a business, there is a salary cap structure. If Sam wants 40 million a year how can you meet the salary cap limits and sign the other veterans on the defensive side of the ball? And they need to also focus on their defensive coordinator, which is the best in the NFL. Honestly his value is more valuable than Sam Darnold.

The Vikings have only proven that they’ve found the right guy for a head coaching. Sam Darnold is about to play and start longer than he has at any point during his career. McCarthy has been with the team he’s been at practices he legit has lunch with KOC every Thursday. To sit here and act like isn’t is absurd. The Vikings should use the money that they have to address the secondary and any holes they may have on the offensive line. The best part about letting Darnold walk and going with McCarthy is we don’t add significant hits to the cap space Kwesi worked so hard to free up.

Darnold walks for a bigger longer contract that Minnesota won’t give him. Maybe they develop that QB from the giants or find someone else serviceable to play while McCarthy gears up. The whole franchise is betting that McCarthy IS the guy for the next decade.

K.O.C. is the reason why Kirko played so well during his last two years and now Slinging Sammy is benefiting from good coaching. I think if he keeps going like this though, you have to franchise tag him or better yet sign him to a 3 year contract and have the option of trading him for a 1 or 2 draft pick...

Tbh i feel like they're saving all of their spicy trick plays and their best plays for the playoffs they already know that if they make a play work in practice vs a defense carrying a qb with more interceptions than TDs that it will work vs everyone else. I think it’s all coaching. It honestly feels like every game some piece of our team is missing. It’s been the defense most recently but there has been games the offense lost us the game or at least came close to it. The team just seems to be missing something every game and that to me is the coaches not prepping them properly

Its a defensive issue, the secondary is allowing 35+ points per game even if joe is giving 5tds they still play catchup because of the terrible secondary
