It's taking pings from the map and putting them in front of you with red boxes so you don't have to look at the map. And, you need a pretty high end PC to do that, so at that point, why not cheat on PC? It'd be better in every aspect. Also, go try and find access to that software, you have to be invited. Which tells me that if I rounded the percentage of people using that to the nearest whole number, it's zero.
