@@markthoeny1370 Easily. You’ll need a backcountry permit since you’ll probably need to be camping out there, available at the Hans Flat Ranger Station. Check the Canyonlands National Park web site for the regulations. The Maze Overlook Road is also out that way and a nice ride. I can send you some GPS tracks if you pm me.

My 500 cc dirt bike was too much motorcycle for that type of trail. One of the guys (John) has a nice 300 two stroke that is much more appropriate.

@@MotoSaunter 50 lbs contrast between the 300 xcw and the 500 exc and that's before your larger fuel tank makes a huge difference. You kicked a$$ on that 500, but yeah we should put that trail on the list earlier in the week. 😀

I ride quite a bit, but not near as much single track as it looks like you do. I've got around 9000 miles since the start of December, but that includes riding to Guatemala.

The worst of it is in the first third. If you can get past the Crucible, you're golden!

Guilty as charged. This obstacle is tough, but not as tough as I make it look.

It was very sandy, but if you are comfortable with that then you could easily get nearly to where we turned around. Though some of the beginning of the route passes through some trees in the drainage. Unfortunately, Ten Mile Wash is one of the trails closed in September of 2023 by the BLM in a controversial revision of the area's transportation plan. It's being appealed but I wouldn't expect it to be reopened.

@@MotoSaunter I saw that it had been closed right after I asked this question. I hate that for those who live there, and for me that I never got to do it. Based on some of what I read, if they have their way, within the next 20 years or so you'll have to ask permission to get out of your vehicle lest you step on a bug. Doesn't seem to be much middle ground with these guys lately. Thanks for the reply.

There is supposedly a route out to Mesa del Huracan, but I missed that turn off and continued south coming out to a main road at Babícora. I didn't run into any questionable gentlemen but did get a lot of inhospitable looks passing through Babícora. I did run into a cartel roadblock a couple of days later south of the mine camp of Delores. There's been some violence last year in the Madera area (outside of town in the rural areas) that would make me think twice about doing it again. But it was a great route. Watch for barbed wire gates across the road. One of them wasn't marked and I nearly hit it at speed.

We had left Panajachel and were on our way to San Marcos la Laguna.

I used a GoPro 9 Black. It has provided better video quality than the 7 Black I have used in the past.
