Very well handled my friend
Too many comments here about skills and conditions…. what about judgement? Test your skills (and improve them) on track days, not on the road. Road the Dragon 20 years ago, two up with my wife on my Hayabusa…. we were careful, my wife still got seasick with all the turns!😊I can only imagine how much worse it is now with all the traffic and squids.
What get some shots no u were slow that's ok Because the road didn't seem safe
Wish there was a way i could post the picture of me in the swift truck taken by Hellboy. 318 corners in 11 miles. In a truck you gotta take both lanes. I layed on the horn every corner scared to death I was gonna have to pick some poor bastard out of the grill who moments prior was trying to scrape the boards on his Goldwing.
I went over that in a truck in 2008. I had no idea what it was. Went from NC to TN on October 16 2008 right after the leaves changed. There was a mist about 8 feet above the Cherola river and stopped. Most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I will go back on a bike. That's the ONLY thing on my bucket list.
Street Rossi down! Street Rossi down!
The speed limit with the box truck was 30. He slowed to 25 or something for a curve, that's not impeding traffic. Stop making excuses for your wanting to ride like a dick.
Hurricane Relief supplies are in the trucks???
Might be this is the only way one could get to Asheville from Tennessee. I think 40 is still closed.
Pop a wheelie dude!lol
🤣
I'll catch you back out there this weekend!
More riding; less talking. 😉
🤣Usually that is the case but I was talking about family around Asheville NC, the wind noise didn't help either lol
I’m glad this place is still intact ❤
Amen!!
Me too.
Very smart to ride your own ride. Besides, I see leaves, wet pavement. GsXR hero is not worth it.
Always somebody from outside the group trying to prove themselves at the risk of others. I had already seen how the ZX6 rider was riding before this ride and had warned him of his poor body position, max lean angle in corners and no gear etc.
Glad the fueling issue went away.I would advise you to keep a check on your fuel level on your dash, mine is faulty it's a known fault,it starts flashing so cable unit to fuel tank needs replacing, can be done under warranty, also another issue is the spark plug gaskets can leak oil,can be done under warranty.Ride safe!
I replaced my ECU with a Racing ECU from AF1 and all my issues went away. RSV4s do not have a fuel gauge. I just reset my tripodometer every time I get fuel and don't go over a 100 miles before refueling..
@@BigEbikesports Good idea.Yes i keep an eye on my trip distance also but if i ride long distance i tend to stop often for short breaks.
Great video,I ride my Aprilia Tuono v4 1100rr on the local mountain roads in Italy (Abruzzo region),there are alot trees ,loose rock fall and wild animals.I see alot of non locals going at crazy speeds, often i see an ambulance coming back.Always expect the unexpected, those roads looked slippery under the trees, glad the biker was ok.Rather take it steady and get back home in one piece!Ride safe lads!
Got to be safe to ride another day! Thanks for watching all the way from Italy!!
@@BigEbikesports I am from the UK but visit my house in Italy every summer with my motorbike. It's an interesting trip,France is great for motorcycling also!
Is that guy riding with a prosthetic leg?
Yes he was. Ironically from a motorcycle accident years ago.
Sounds great!👍
Hope he's heals up quick but got to ride your own ride any time we jump on our scooters. Hope you were out chasing some today and I wish I was out there with you all
Ohh bro! I will be doing the dragon by Saturday, now I am scared 😳
Keep the ego in check, ride at your own capabilities and stay below what you believe are your own limits and you'll be fine. Keep in your own lane, use the pullovers when faster people come up on you cars/bikes and never get target fixation here.. target fixation here can kill you, look thru that corner into the side of the hill and don't stop
What Kyle just said, ride your own ride and what feels safe to you and others!
This guy says you guys are hauling ass like idiots, I am local! Lol
We were taking it easy, staying back because of the conditions. damp road etc. I am local.
For some reason folks who ride Harley Davidson never have that problem. I guess Harley Davidson is a better motorcycle for a American highway. The torque in the right place. Better balance Lower center of gravity ❤ With a Harley Davidson on our roads, american prayer is keeping gracious Harley- Davidson riders safe 😮
Actually as someone who also owns a harley bagger and Is in this video/frequents this area, I have helped more harley riders and seen way more harley riders injured than I usually come across sport bike riders.. with that said it's rider error and judgement on the harleys riders here who have never learned to properly take a corner like most cruiser riders.. the cruisers/harleys here are just as much of a hazard as the 16 year old boy who wants to slay the dragon.
pixelated 1080p quality in 2024 is crazy. but nice ride!
New Gopro 12 and missing codec on computer before uploaded to UA-cam, problems is fixed now so next videos should be clear and high quality.
One less tooth on the front sprocket and two more on the back. Stock gearing is ludicrously tall on the RSv4.
I was running -1/+1 in this video and now am just running -1 in the front which feels just right and the extra 1/4 inch on the wheelbase gives a little more traction. The RSV4 is geared to moon from the factory.
Omg!!!! He really was just laying there... man I'm soo glad he was ok!!!
Me too bro, he is so lucky to have walked away from that!
Ride safe on the road, hard on the track.
Never ride with a hard on
Man. im really impressed. You guys road a great line and chose a good speed for the conditionsyoits so easy to let your ego take over but you guys played it smart. You guys also handled the situation really well. Very cool headed.
Thanks man! We've have seen so much carnage in decades of riding up here plus we all have lost good friends on this road. Gotta keep the egos in check and ride your own ride, wear the proper gear, be safe for everyone to ride another day.
I hear “clink clink clink Clark clak “ lol😅
🤣🤣
Whats up Big E hope all is good, going up to Blairsville to ride Oct 4-6 all around that area. Would be cool to meet up and ride with locals that know the area, and great roads. Let me know if your available.
Whats up! That is the weekend/week that I have to work unfortunately my guy! I might decide to take it off tho since the season is almost over and I want to ride. Are you coming up to the Dragon from Blairsville?
Yes sir, we’re from South Florida but staying in Blairsville. We’ll ride up there and anywhere else you think is good
@@BigEbikesports
@@machete752 My advice and I mean this in the kindest regard, show this video to everyone you know who rides here in hopes that everyone will ride safely, wear proper gear etc. and ride within their skills and conditions. Us locals are becoming more and more afraid to meet up with nonlocals because so many think they have to ride fast and prove themselves then crash. We want everybody to have fun but in a safe manner for everyone so all can go home in one piece. I mostly just ride the Dragon and Hwy 28 in NC on the other side of Deals Gap.
@@BigEbikesports yeah I hear you man, I’m 46 so I’m not trying to prove myself to anyone. We rode Cherohola Skyway and loved it also. We’re going to checkout blood mountain and suches loop. Well also try that 28 your talking about

@@CubanRider Please give me a heads up somehow when you are coming up again so I can plan to meet up and we can ride bro.
@@BigEbikesports will do 🤙
High-sided my CRF250 at about 25mph & my whole left leg turned purple by 3-4 days later. It was the sound of the helmet hitting the road that spooked me the worst. Can’t imagine and don’t wanna know what it’s like at 40-50+. Takes a while for that new pavement to cure. Yall be safe up there!!
People don't realize how just low siding can really mess you up, high siding you get thrown off the bike into the air. I went down in 2016 and it really checked my ego and made me realize this sport is not something to take high risk with, it can cost you your life in an instant. Thanks for watching!!!
We ride the same trail thy are fun And good single track
Yes sir! Thanks for watching!!

It's part of that secret single track above WIndrock.
Hope I make it this fall 🍁 Be my first time You have a very awesome Ducati
Just be safe and ride your on ride, thank you but its an Aprilia RSV4, still Italian made tho lol
You have a geometry problem for these turns. Raised the suspension 1mm behind the screw that is down where the scissor joins. That is, increase the length of the suspension a little.. 1mm only.. And the reason is that the road corners are closed and your bike is set geometrically from the factory more for the track..
Are you talking about lengthening the rear shock by 1mm. I just changed the rear spring to stiffer for my weight and I am letting the spring settle some before correcting the sag. I also went back down to stock gearing on rear sprocket which will lengthen the wheelbase by 6mm so next ride i plan on dialing in the preload front and rear to equalize front and rear.
@@BigEbikesports Your sag has nothing to do with the geometry, of course the fact that you changed it, I believe, would be after checking and measurements and maybe it was needed. if the rear did a squat when you open the gas, this affects the open turns with a large gas flow and this is corrected with the degrees on the scissor. The fact that you increased the bike's wheelbase by 6mm just made it even more difficult to turn.. You just wanted a small fix to make it faster in tight turns. Just what I've seen in the video is that you close the throttle in the middle of the corner and open up hard when you come out on the straight. That looks like tall geometry to me.. On the road you want neutral steering. On the track maybe a higher geometry will help. Now you will have even more problems I think. When you drive with the new changes I would like if you could inform me of your impressions. Thanks! Maybe I am wrong from the video but you will tell us better when you drive her how you will feel
@@kriskarkinos Geometry wasn't changed but rear spring was changed for a higher rate since I am 270 lbs. Sag does affect geometry since 1.7 turns on the fork preload equals to 1mm rise in the front which is your geometry, doing the rear preload will raise or lower the rear in turn affects geometry. The bike only has 400 miles so I wanted to ride the bike with higher rate rear spring and get a feel for what needs dialed in and also gearing/Sprocket changes for where I am riding etc. Next ride I plan on working on geometry, sag, and suspension valving settings. As you know when changing things, you have to ride it to see how the bike responds and what changes must be made. I will let you know as I go along to the changes I made. Appreciate your advice too and thanks for the interest, watching!
@@BigEbikesports The preload does not affect the geometry just the spring needs more kilos to go down. As a result you think it improved the geometry but you lose in the travel of the suspension.. It is a combination and one affects the other. Anyway, I think you already know what you want and it is right and good to try combinations until you find the perfect setting..
We could talk for days about each point how and why it affects the motorcycle.. It is probably the largest chapter of the posts on the motorcycle topic.. But it is the most basic. Even from the tires..
I'll be down there riding the 26-28. Hope to see you!
I am off that weekend so weather permitting I should be riding! Just wave me down if you see me!
Just wanted to say that I am a harley rider and I hate when guys do that shit… I’m like Bro we fuel injected now stop acting like your carburetor needs to burn in.
Nice to see a calm relaxing run.
Thanks for watching! I am too old to prove anything to anyone lol
@@BigEbikesportsYo....do you.....👍👍👍👍
@@BigEbikesports What's the difference between the 2 Apes.... besides yours is newer...any noticeable differences is What I'm asking?
👍
As someone who lives in the region, I want to put out there that the Dragon's Tail is only the "most famous" road. There are others that I find more intense. Some of which I will keep to myself but an honorable mention goes to Blood Mountain. It has less turns overall but its turns are more intense.
Shhhhhhhh 🤫
What else bro please
Ditto, but we don’t share those roads. 😉
Nice run 👍
Thank you sir! Hopetully we all can make a pass together soon!
with this low rpm you use only 25% Power of the bike. Try a Supermoto in this slow corner track :)
antprilla kills it on a husky 701
You should use 1st gear in most corners
My bike is actually geared down some. Yea the power is definitely overkill for this road. I have a 2023 MT09SP that I really like riding more on the TOTD. JR is insane on his Supermoto 701.
@@796andy2 Yes he does, well he kills it on anything really lol
@@Cibocino bike is -1/+1 on gearing so 1st would be too much in the revs to lean'er over.
The last of us..:)
Hey Big E. Let me know next time you go ride the dirt. I'll ride my big girl.
You need to get a regular dirt bike to go ride where we ride, that big girl too heavy bro lol
Why ain't you ever introduced me to jr?
JR has only been riding street. He just bought a newer dirt bike right before he went with us on that last dirt bike ride. He and I have known each other going back 2 decades on the Dragon.
@BigEbikesports i haven't only Ridden street, i ride dirt also, just no where as much as I ride street..
