Recién vi la película, no sabía de su historia. No pensé en este final tan triste, una persona muy joven, lo que si admiré de él es que en su corta vida, yo tengo 62 años, vivió como realmente deseo, eso no es poca cosa. Mi hijo de 18 años empezó a verla y después se fue, me dijo esto no va a terminar bien. y que fue hace muchos años, como madre y viendo las injusticias del mundo, la hambruna, la muerte de niños, mujeres y que a nadie le importa, me dio mucha tristeza y más de la manera que murió. Por todo lo que hizo por esa gente no mereció esa muerte. Pero el mundo está peor que esos años, las grandes potencias solo quieren destrucción y nosotros solo poner un granito en tanta maldad. 😔🌹🇺🇾

So happy to find this. I am now a photographer, 25 years and counting, a photojournalist in part thanks to what an impact and inspiration this documentary was to me when i was starting and watched it. THANKS FOR POSTING! Hope it get to inspire others.

I remember when this was shown on CNN International many many years ago. Crazy documentary. I told my brothers about it, but they didn't believe me.

Sad his dad is so hateful and selfish. His son jumped at the chance to portray American forces as monsters, then died by ambush by the same anger later turned our people, then when we kept his sons body from the desecration that journalists of his sons ilk gleefully broadcast of our brave men, he’s ungrateful.

I was in Baidoa at the time. I regret that we never got to meet in Nairobi.

This brings me right back to that time and Baidoa and Mogadishu.

Always smart ass cynic on these things who stir up trouble.think they know more than us awakened ones...haha I just laugh at them cos they r living fake false lives . experience is key..it teaches us wisdom insight strength clarity truth .there r two kinds of life experiences....one is the physical mental psychological ones two ..other is spiritual experiences.weneed to experience both to know the full story .we need to know both sides of the coin .only some us experience the spiritual but on other hand we all do when it comes to sleep.dremss r not dreams we r most open then and we truly experience the spiritual world during sleep .it's more like .. spiritual recharge .astral travel ...o.b.e visitations r a apart of the spiritual experience s.u miss out on the benefits of inner peace if your not aware and understand how the spiritual element works .on a basic level thenlevels increase with experiences and more wisdom insight is attained .we don't need to be a medium to know or experience these things.a medium is like a radio with handset that received info on frequencies then transmits them to a lower frequency to loved oneswho seek the answers from the medium.

There's a film about Dan. THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION. His beautiful sister Kathy is a successful producer. Turning up at a bombing where the target was Aidid expecting anything other than hostility, where locals could take you for Seals on a follow up, or even just as a journalist was not a good call. The fact any pictures would have hurt the US in Somalia was by the by. Distraught crowds are dangerous

There were six children in our family. One brother was murdered. Our Mother was never the same. It seemed as though she forgot we existed. Very hard for all of us in wondering if we had any meaning in her life at all. It never changed

I dream of working with people like minded as me as these women and men are 💓

I am a victim of this no longer, however I will fight for our rights very passionately! I decided to start being activist today 💓

WOW, I remember in 1997 going to the Art supplies store on the corner my freshman year of Art School at MICA in Baltimore, MD and coming across her son's book: The Journey Is The Destination, The Journals of Dan Eldon... I had been making sketch books (probably around 30 or more) since I was a kid as they were my outlet for a very emotionally turbulent childhood. Her son's sketch books combined activism with exploration in a stunning, raw, extremely unique style. I was also a youth activist. His work really inspired me. Can't believe this is his Mum! What a cool trip down memory lane. Glad he was helping guide her to promote his work from the other side as his creations are incredible!

I am so glad to see this on here! I bought this movie YEARS ago on VHS and the tape doesn't work very well anymore. I have played it often because I am a photography teacher at a high school in Ohio. I have shown this movie to every one of my Photo I classes since I bought the movie. Please keep this on here so I can continue to show it to my classes!
