Cyprus, Zenobia 2 7th October 2024
This was our second dive of the day on the Zenobia. This time doing the wreck lesson as part of the PADI AOW course. Our nephew was looking very relaxed in the water and so we did some wreck penetration.
This dive headed to the point bit at the front of the boat. Look out for the red carpet that is still in place when we go inside.
Water temp was 26c even down to 30 metres. So diving in a 3mm shortie was all that was required.
Video was shot using a GoPro 9, 60 FPS and 4k, plus a pair of 9,000 lumen Divepro lights.

This gentle dive in the shelter of the bay was our second dive of the day. Plenty of lobsters to be found and some fish. St Abbs Head offers some lovely scenic diving. Look out for squat lobsters, scorpion fish, a sun star and other critters. This was our second dive of the week on this wreck. As can be seen the conditions were a bit murky. Not to be put off I concentrated on the engineering elements, hence the backlighting of various parts of the wreck. This wreck is one of the Russian factory trawlers that suffered an all too familiar fate. The dive is fairly shallow, we maxed out at 20 metres, so plenty of natural light. Dratsi is the Shetland word for otter. So the alternative name for the site is Otter Point. As scenic dives go this was a treat. Look out for ling, whelks, a butter fish, and various shelled critters moving around. As can be seen at the end of the video, the weather was a bit challenging. The thing with scenic dives is you never really know what to expect. This lovely dives contains all sorts of wildlife: several octopus, cat shark, ling, gurnards and various lobsters scuttling around. It felt like playing Seasearch Bingo. Thank you to Hazel and Helen for running Valhalla dive boat for us. #valhalla #mvvalhalla
