1 41 Inf's Brown Butler Week SD 480p
We created this video just before commemorating the first anniversary of the loss of these two wonderful Soldiers. Our hope was that the video would serve as a lasting reminder to us, our families, and most importantly to Jacob Butler and Larry Brown's families of the tremendous sacrifice they made to our Nation. Never forget! Straight and Stalwart!!

    Great video of you and your son working together. I like his input at the end. We need more of this with today's young people. It's also awesome hearing the kids playing in the background with no masks on!! I will see if my 2014 JKU has the same set up. Thank you and hope y'all are still doing well!

    Could be easier to use compressed air. Maybe even by blowing air from underneath the vehicle which would eliminate the need to remove the cowl.

    I had the common problem of water on the passenger side floor after a hard rain and assumed the drain was clogged. It wasn't. I regularly park my Jeep on a slope where the it leans to the passenger side and water was funneling into the vent and down to the floor. Park it on level ground and it doesn't happen. I enjoyed your video, but my problem was where and how I had it parked. I suggest before others go through this procedure they consider where and how they park and maybe test the drain while parked on level ground. Thanks for the video. 2002 TJ

    It's been raining for 2 days, I took my recently bought 05 for a spin and noticed water driping in same area. I'm sure it's just the rain but after I quickly shut off my A/C the dripping slowed down by a lot. I'll be taking a look tomorrow thanks for posting this.

      They don't have same design & finish detail as an expensive car, but rather designed for pure utilitarian use and subject to harsher off road elements. Love my 2000 TJ, if you prefer more modern design, the new Jeeps are an option.

    I was getting water on both side pass/driver, I had my windshield changed and the old one had maybe 60% of the sealant touching the windshield, this stopped the water from filling the driver side and cut down on some noise, now my passenger side gets wet when I run my a/c

    I did this, and really helped. I used a hose and a shop vac to clear the drain. However if you pull up the passenger side rug i found a black gasket that seemed to be leaking too. Something else to check.

    On my 2000 tj I get the water on the drivers side could it be the same problem?

    • @georgegeczy7815
      @georgegeczy7815 8 років тому

      +Julo Villarreal, I am not sure. I think that if the cowl vent drain is backed up the water will flow through the least path of resistance, which his through the intake for A/C heater fan duct on the passenger side. You probably have a totally different issue.

  • @MOLRobocop
    @MOLRobocop 8 років тому

    Not too bad. My 98 TJ has a 7 screw on the vents of the cowling.

  • @jimcampbell226
    @jimcampbell226 8 років тому

    If the cowling is not draining it will cause water to get into your heater vent and drain into the passenger side floor. There is a screen under the cowl so that large debris cannot get into the cowl. The drain tube is plugged, likely from making contact with the hot engine and melting the tube closed. The tube is on the passenger side engine area. Pull it off, cut the end off to open it back up. Some guys fabricated hoods for the cowl or covered it, unnecessary..

    Thanks so much for the video. I had used written instructions on my '97 Wrangler Sahara before for removing the cowl and cleaning out the debris in there, but it didn't contain info about clearing the chute. A coat hanger and a few buckets of warm water flushed it all out. I'm sure my problem is resolved now.

      Luckily, I saw your hanger option. I don't have a vacuum nor a hose. I used a hanger and bucket of hot water. I heard the water pour through so hopefully the problem is solved.

    Have the videos, just need to make it. The repair went well. Couple of takeaways: 1. Use thin plywood to make templates to fit C-Channel and match the hole you have cut out to the frame. Cardboard is too soft 2. We cut out triangle pieces to fit around C-channel nuts. We made three templates to work around the C-channel. 3. We installed 3/4" weather proofed plywood for the floor. 4. We went with cork floating flooring which is awesome to replace the laminate and brick tiles for the bathroom. 5. Working around the sink was the hardest part with the floating floor. good jig saw and thin blades were the trick with the cork. Hope this helps.

      zartan z think it depends on how much dead vegetation can slip through the cowl and i would imagine how much off road you do. Most of our debris was from Georgia pine needles and leaves, nothing too adventurous.

      You bet, we had fun making it and btw we have had three major storms here in Texas and not a hint of any this problem again. We did purchase a cowel vent hood to asset in keeping debris out of the cowel.

      KGIII Airstream, Jeep & Home DYI Repairs What does this cowl vent hood look like? I have this exact problem, but because I live on the road, I don't have the tools and equipment to suck out the debris in the cowl vent hose. Is that the hose that come out down near a butane-tank-like device on the right side (I don't know what this rounded bottom tank thing is, but that's what it looks like) The hose is only about 3 inches long and doesn't seem clogged up. How do I clean this out? Thank you!

    • @kgiiiairstreamjeephomedyir1063
      @kgiiiairstreamjeephomedyir1063 9 років тому

      Stephanie, the big tank is the blower motor. The Cowl drain is right below the windshield wiper motor, it's about six inches long. When I pumped water through the cleaned out drain it just ran straight through the engine compartment to the ground. So you probably just use something thin enough to slowly push the debris that's stuck in there through the drain hole or try to scrape it out. Hope this helps!
