I wish you would film in landscape. Easier to see.
Love the stories, and pictures too! Thankyou too your Dad!
Great video on using milk paint on fabric. Could hardly find any on the internet about this…Would have been better if we could see what you’re actually doing. The camera shots were too far, can’t see the texture of the fabric and direction of brushing while chair was being painted. Close up was only done while waxing. How many coats did you put on the fabric, please??? And would the powder structure of the milk paint not break down through the years??? How would one maintain this paint on a fabric??? Will appreciate your response…thank you so much for sharing!
With fabric, it's more like scrubbing the paint into the fabric. The direction does not matter, nor does the texture of the fabric impact how the paint is applied. The number of coats depends on the fabric color and the paint color. With this project, we went from Ivory, which was very yellow, to Marzipan, which is more pink. We used super thin coats and did 3 in an effort not to soak the padding. The paint will not break down as long as it is top-coated. We used a wax that should be repeated every few years.
Love the new look, Brenda! Milk paint is amazing :)
You did a beautiful job I love the colors that you put on the dresser drawer and stool❤🎉💯❤️👏👍🙏
Only NINE LIKES!? You deserve a lot more! ☺️😇🙂
Lovely pieces!
I was so glad to come across your video. Best UA-cam how-to video I have ever seen. So informative, and the way you spoke made it so easy to follow. I have this exact trunk. All the designs on yours, the patterns on the wood, metals, etc, match mine. One difference, the way you lifted yours so easily, I'm sure mine is larger, but from the same set. Before I apply the Mink you recommend, I am hoping you can help me with a few questions, or give me information to a site where I can find the answers. Do you know what types of materials: wood, metal, paper lining, etc. were used to make this trunk? The metal on mine has some rust. Will the Mink Oil take that off? Or should (or can) I use a rust remover first? TY for any information you can give me. I do hope those reaches you. I can't wait to get my gifted loved truck beautiful. Denise
Hi Denise! You can learn more about Kathy Young's process for refreshing this trunk on our blog. She goes into more detail in this blog post: www.mmsmilkpaint.com/blog/antique-steamer-trunk-meets-milkoil
So cute 🥰 What kind of wax is used at the end? I wasn’t able to see the name in the supplies pic
Nicole sealed the sign with the MilkWax™ in Clear, then used MilkWax™ in Antiquing to add more depth to the sign. You can read the blog post for more detailed instructions on creating this sign. www.mmsmilkpaint.com/blog/diy-man-in-the-moon-sign
I LOVE using a boxwood wash over dark stain on distressed wood to produce an old antique vibe. Gorgeous!
It does make a great antique looking finish.
TY! I didn't know about that product. Will be looking into it.
Boxwood is such a pretty green, especially when chippy!
It's very comforting to know that I'm not doing everything wrong!
This video makes me feel like I'm not doing everything wrong :)

Boxwood is such a lovely color and MMS milk paint is tops in my book for any furniture projects I have where I want a unique, classic look ❤
I never thought of using a frother!
I’ve used MMS Milk Paint on many of my home furniture projects and it’s always so fun to see the different results each time on the crackle/chippy wood looks I’m aiming for! Also love that it’s a more natural ingredient alternative to traditional paints😊
Boxwood and Kitchen Scale are 2 of my FAVORITE colors of your Milk Paint. I have used your other colors for small craft projects but intend to paint our coffee table and my antique cupboard soon. I sure would love some BOXWOOD.
I’ve never used those drops!!
They are adorable! I love the unique colors for the pumpkins 😊
I need to head to Pennsylvania and check out the vintage shopping!

The yellow is so pretty! I do find that with Miss Mustard Seed paint-the first coat very pale but the 2nd coat really comes to life!
Yes! We always recommend painting 2-3 coats for optimal color coverage.

I like her, but too long-winded, get to it and be done. She lost me about 5 min in.
