Thinking about getting this how is it holding up?

I've tried several different variations of that aerator.....it never lasted as soon as it got wet.....junk

You had a heck of a year in the yak. Nothing wrong with giggling like a youngin' when you land a nice fish 😁. I couldn't watch the part when you hooked your thumb again, it was bad the 1st time I watched it. That small creek had some nice fish. I really enjoy watching channels when the person has a real excitement & appreciation for the sport of fishing. Hope 2025 is full of wall hangers for you 🎣

I don't think I know anybody who hasn't forgot to install drain plug in boats or kayaks 🤣. My drain plug for my yak is on top and I don't like it. After watching this, I may install a drain plug on the bottom towards the front so it's above the water line. That way I just have to elevate stern instead of flipping it over

Very nice little creek. Some of those SMB had beautiful markings. Careful out there, getting injured tends to take a lot of the fun out of fishing.

Nice job on the DIY stern light. I have red/green bow lights also, but they are not required here for a kayak. Want to pass on some info a veteran yaker told me. He said you really shouldn't Use bow lights on a yak cuz it makes boaters think you are a boat with greater speed & manueverability than a kayak. Guess it kind of makes sense. If you're night fishing on a small lake that doesn't allow gas motors, probably not an issue, But if I night fish out on the bay with the big boats, i dont use bow lights.

Wow, a hook right next to the nail is not good. Tip of any finger or thumb is painful cuz of all the nerve endings there. This may sound goofy, but probably should carry a pair of side cutters, make cutting the hook easier. Glad you could continue to fish

Do you still have or use this trolling motor?

For larger batteries, look into, " kayak outriggers stabilizers " , or make it with large PVC pipe. I would mount the batteries on top of the out rigging brace to keep pressure off mounting screws on kayak from pulling out. To also keep the plastic kayak mount from pulling out, cut a slot just under the inside of the kayaks track mount, and, insert flat stock to match, install self tapping metal screws. You can also seal the slot holes to keep water out.
