Still despite its shortcomings it turned out to be an amazing movie and everyone who watched it fell in love with the battle angel.

Alita and Hugo's relationship was never meant to work out as a happy romance, but as a setup for tragedy. Alita's interest in him _is_ naive and immature, and Hugo feelings for her are sidelined by his obsession with Zalem. In the end he chose his dream over her, died pursuing it, and she is left heartbroken. But the whole arc is ultimately a stepping stone for Alita's character development. It inspired her to fight against Vector and Nova and try to change the rules of this world that didn't allow her to have a happy ending. Also, please, for the love of Grond, stop comparing Alita to Pinocchio! Pinocchio is a construct that has to learn what humanity is in order to become human. Alita is human, despite her atrificial body, and she knows it! What she has to figure out is what kind of person she is.

Chiren figured out that Vector was scamming everyone, including her, when she asked what he had promised Hugo to get him to cooperate and he told her it was passage to Zalem and laughed afterwards. This was the same promise he'd made to her, and she figured out that it had been a lie all along. It doesn't spoonfeed you telling you that she has swapped sides, but it's obvious enough if you pay close attention to that scene next time you watch it.

In Asia, we place alot of emphasis on maternity love. In many of our movies, the mother will sacrifice everything for her child. Alita is Ido's "child" and had a child's body and name, it makes her become a mother. As an Asian, I can understand how she could change her mind. My question to you is, when should one changes one's mind. Is there a specific way before you agree that she can change her mind. Alita crying for her love is not enough?
