I vote for Sierra.
Thanks for posting your tests! Super 8 is definitely all about the feeling and certainly has its place in today's world. It would be interesting to see a same scene comparison between actual super 8 film VS a film simulation plugin for digital like Dehancer PRO.
Great Video! The AI music was off-putting, though..
Women Nr.2 😍
The film back for my RB67 died yesterday, so this video just hurts my soul
Nothing like looking at medium format film on a light table.
Long day at work for me, but your video and the fun time y’all were have put a smile on my face. Thanks gang.
Everyone’s already said it but this was definitely a fun video, shots were great! Anyone else hear a little Owl City vibes in the music 😅
lol it was so fun to edit as well….just loved the AI themed music
Super fun edit for sure! 😅
@@reformedfilmlab absolutely, I’ve been hearing some smaller business around where I am making themed music to play in their showrooms and whatnot.
The music caught me by surprise! Hah! Well done. I mean, AI may take over our music, but at least it will never take our film cameras!
Digital tried to kill film….but failed!
lol funny stuff!
Bri rocked the 120 film. That music was awful though.
She’s a great photographer 🎞️
@@reformedfilmlab Yes she is. Everyone at your lab is. Please find better music next time. Maybe Kodachrome by Paul simon.
Is it Bronica or Broncia? (See the graphics on the photos)
I watched this video like 3 times and didn’t catch that!!! -Mike
Holga vs Hasselblad… 😂 not quite in the same class!
Slight pricing and quality difference 😂
Awesome! As always! Is that the official lab Hasselblad? I know it's made several mic-dropping appearances. Asking for a friend. Who isn't jealous. At all. 🤣Seriously, though, great stuff! 🤘😎🤘
Yep! Bought from one of our local photographers for the channel. It's awesome!
@@reformedfilmlab🔥🤘😎🤘🔥
I knew that that was AI music. It’s not as fun as you think. Knock it off.
Cool video!!
This was pretty cool - I have been interested in shooting 120 for quite some time. I don’t know of anyplace that has these cameras easily as available to test and shoot to make a commitment / compare on which to buy.
The loading looks tedious! I wonder if there ever were plans to make 120 into canisters like 35mm film? But I guess back in the day 120 only was used by professionals and hobyists, not for the day to day.
A little more work than 35mm, but becomes easier as you shoot it over time.
8:37 This B&W portrait of Bri is so goood
Totally agree!
I know!!!! That was my favorite shot. I texted Mike right away and just said that shot was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥!
Through the power of orthochrome.
This was a fun one! It's 120 Time!!!
Killer music! Definitely going to win some awards on them!
@@reformedfilmlab That AI Worked hard on those lol
I bought some very old 127 and it worked amazing. Some other old film, not so much; it is really hit or miss.
That gorgeous packaging!
Great video! Loved it!
Cool score!!! Nice rebel shirt. But I’m with the EMPIRE!!!😂 As far as the Kodacolor X, be careful how you process it. I shot a roll, didn’t realize it was meant for 22C temps, and the roll came out super reticulated. It was cool, but not at all what I expected.
Glad to see you all are ok. Awesome score. I schoot both expired and fresh film.
Occasionally shoot cars and bikes for a living, so it bugged me a bit when looking at the compositions in Ava and John's pictures. A vote from me for Sierra ;)
Fun video. I want that camera.
I called it right! ^_^
Even though I was a backer of the 400D launch (for 220 rolls that didn't happen so I got 120 instead but whatever), I just haven't been able to like it. I don't know if its the halations around the highlights or the occasional weird color shift, or something else. I've made few images that I like with it. 50D, however, has been a favorite of mine and I've found it to be very versatile. I even shoot a lot of long exposure night shots with it, and love the colors that come straight out of my scanner. That said when I run thru my stock of 50D I probably won't be purchasing any more of it.
Hire some people who actually know how to use a camera....please.
This would be way more useful if you put the two stills next to each other and show the pairs of shots one after the other. How can I compare if I can’t actually see them next to each other?
Good feedback, thanks!
he asked them if they re-wound the film !
Hah good catch! I meant did you finish winding it 😂
Would you say the 400D has a similar latitude as the Portra 400, where you can rate it for ISO 200, or is it recommended to rate it at box speed?
I would for sure say you can rate it at 200 with great results. Color negative film in general can be overexposed a few stops and will still scan very well. I (Mike) shoot a lot of my film at half speed.
Couldn't tell them apart until the side by side Land Rover shots. Hasselblad had shallower dof therefore likely to have slower film.
Did you ever find your trampoline ? 🌀
Hah, yes! About 4 houses over in our neighbors backyard.
Just got some Cinestill 800T back from your lab and it was fun to shoot, this now makes me realize I need to try out some 50D soon.
We hope you love shooting 50D! Thanks for creating with CineStill!
Johns photos were better this round but he worries too much about settings. Eva is the GOAT once again. You should have camera straps on all your cameras. If you drop it because you don't have one it could be an expensive mistake.
Agree on the strap thing. Walking around with a camera without a strap makes me feel almost the same as driving my car without a seatbelt. You don't need it until you needed it. :)
250 with an f/8? Has to be 400d 😜
Ah shit lol
I thought the same thing until i saw the color of the first picture lol
John did so good in this one! Producer Paul is proud!! Good job team! CineStill looks so good too!
I've been trying to understand your branding. What exactly does "reformed" mean in your branding?
Check out episode four of our podcasts. We discussed the name of the lab a little little bit there.
Where’s 800T with an 85 filter?
We'll need to have that in our 800T video...
Glad you guys made out good. Sorry bout your trampoline. 😢
Glad everyone is doing relatively well. Photos aren’t important and people are, so give everyone time to get back on their feet.
Glad you guys are ok!!
Thank You Jesus. Hi Jules!
Glad you are all ok.
Film is more fun but it can wait. Glad to see you guys are okay.
Hope you’re able to get the trampoline back lol but seriously glad to hear everyone is good, going to continue praying for everyone affected!!!
This is what I used to do in the Navy.....processing, quality control and processor maintenance. Had no idea they still had Noritsu machines.... I used to work on Hope processors in the civilian world and Kodak EH-3D's in the navy..... my how times have changed! I still have all of my color darkroom equipment!
I bought 3 rolls of reformed night shots 800 and I shot 2 at box speed with two different cameras I normally use and that operate normally and this film just comes out severely underexposed. It’s not user error I’ve been shooting film for 8 years now. I will have to try the last roll at 400 ISO but it’s the last time I buy this film.
Stay safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with Florida (and certainly still with NC and TN)
