Gillian Welch and David Rawlings Howdy Howdy Instrumental Cover
Переглядів 12021 день тому
I was really inspired by this song and found myself playing along, and then making an instrumental version. Here it is, just me and I bring in the looper for the solos and chorus only. Recorded direct into the UA Apollo X4 using the new MixWave Two Rock plugin
Sunnee's Ballad (LsL Tbone Chris Fleming Masterbuilt)

Just wrote this progression and looped it up and improvised over it. Feeling really inspired with this LsL Tbone Chris Fleming Masterbuilt guitar and my old 70's Fender Deluxe Reverb.

Looks like he's just showing off...
Really good! Have you done any Beatles? I will be rewatching this for sure.
Oddly, I haven't but I do play a lot of Beatles songs. Which would you want to see first?
@DaveElke How about, Something or Julia...or something of your choice which you would be suitable.
I very much enjoyed this! It makes me want to start practicing guitar again. I used to play a lot more in the past. Lately I haven’t done much with the guitar at all.
Thank You for Sharing
Sweet melody
Great advice, thanks Dave!
You sellin’ it? 😃
It was a friends, I just got to visit with it.
i'm a freshman in college & my semester ends early/mid-december but i rlly appreciate this message... thank you :)
You're welcome, you got this!
I liked it! 👍
that's not mixing hybrid. that's mixing ITB with a 2 buss insert. huge difference. not even close. not the same ballpark. not the same sport. wait, theyre not even both sports. one is eating a sandwich and the other is doing yard work. this how unrelated they are.
This is only one example, we do mix fully on the console as well..
delbert mcclinton?
it is easier with tabs......
Its not about playing the song, but understanding it
Amazing! Thank you so much! Been wanting to learn this for so long!
It's a fun one to play!
WOW!!!
c'est dommage, on ne voit pas très bien la position des doigts sur les cordes
well done !!!
Thanks, I gotta do part 2 someday!
Awesome
Great playing. There should be a contest among players who covers this song. The one who plays this emotional song without any facial expression wins.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢
haha! it's a handful!
Is this the Charlie Haynes from Chico State in CA? 👍 🎶 Great!
Yes! He lived in Chico and taught at Chico State.

I didn't know the Phoenix Pre's were actually 1073 Clones. I don't think they are closely modelled after a 1073 like a lot of the other one's out there, like say a BAE, AMS, or GA even etc. I think they say they are Class A like the 1073, and other British Preamps. They are also electronically transformerless balanced inputs, and I'm quite sure they are a unique design, veering quite far from a 1073, but still give you a fat saturated british type vibe if you want it type thing.
Ya, not a clone. Transformer output and a nice thick tone though.
Thank you for sharing, I have a question for you. What is your preference of guitar output for working in studio. Do you prefer low out put single coil? or hotter output single coil with more body to the tone? I have heard that low output has larger dynamic range but at the same time I also heard that sometimes the tone does not have enough thickness or body to fulfilled the track. Also when I work with studio they prefer hotter output so it add more weight to the song. What is your preference?
Honestly, it can really vary. I like vintage low output pickups personally.
@@DaveElke Thanks, I appreciate your response.
Sorry, but it is advisable to tune the guitar
It was in tune when I bought it :)

Nicely done! Is there a "part 2"?
I haven’t got to it yet!
Yeah the original is much simpler than lot of people have interpreted it over the years.
Excellent I'm going to get my theory books out again, 👍
cool ... great song
Nice!
Beautiful ideas for this beautiful song. Thanks, mate!
Thanks! It's such a good groove.
Glad I happened across your video. I was looking for a good tune to work on and...well... :0) I forgot that "This Masquerade" was in the New Real Book. I've always thought this tune by Leon Russell was great. Thanks for the reminder. I'll not be attempting George Benson's version... but it's worth a listen just for some inspiration. Thanks again!
Appreciate it, happy to provide some inspiration.

Good idea, I did a short on here for the JM solo, but a proper lesson is a good call.

YEAH!
I love this song! I can listen to it over and over again :D
a true masterpiece.
Great sounding telecaster shaped object
It was very nice to visit with it.
Excellent job, Dave :)
Thanks, fairly obsessed with Duke.
@@DaveElke He's a great guitarist for a guitarist to be obsessed with :) I was very, very fortunate that back in the 90s when I was living in Boston, I got to see him many, many times at the Lizard Lounge. He's still playing there regularly (w/ an old friend of mine, and one of my old teachers!). Rock on, Dave...
Dude this is perfect

I only came to watch the video because of the dog 😍 but you sing beautiful too 🥰🫶
Annie dog for the win.
Long version please❤
ok!
Beautiful ❤
Great video! I want to come visit the gallery out at Butte to see her wonderful work!
Is the sound worth it?
Yes, very much so. I mix in the box a lot also, but prefer the workflow and sound of analog mixing.
They should make a desk like that with 3 rows of 500 series and automation
There’s inserts on every channel so you can use a 500 module and another insert. I have comps in a rack but could have more 500 units also.
@@DaveElke didn’t know that, thanks!
