I don’t drink 💁🏻♀️ because I became mindful of the negative effects it had on me. Brett 🙋🏻♂️ might be able to have a drink once in a while, but he often chooses non-alcoholic. This mindful choice of mine (for the second time) started in January 1, 2023 and led me Mindful Eating. 🍽️ 👉 The benefits of Mindful Eating (and choosing a sober life) over dieting are: ✅ Learning and overcoming the control any of it can have on us. ✅ Eliminating potential ills and chronic diseases at worst, and at best, eliminating numbness (food coma, hangovers) that keeps us from our purpose. ✅ Developing Self-Control ✅ Building a healthier Spiritual and Physical lifestyle. ✅ Saying good bye to restrictive diets forever and building healthy boundaries. 🙏 If you’re sick & tired of being sick & tired, journey into a Mindful Eating Approach! I think it’s great to track calories because it helps to see how much you are overeating and how you can adjust your daily meals…

@@TheMcFamilia Excellent example! 🙌🏽 So many of us, including myself 🙋🏻♀️ at one point, ignore that feeling and end up eating with our eyes and mind completely ignoring that cue. Whether it’s fullness or not feeling well, and whether that’s by calories tracking or not, we’d do well being mindful about what we eat so we don’t mindlessly do it. 😉😘

🙋🏻♀️ Before I dive in, I just have to say how proud I am of my husband for tracking calories! 🎉 We’re just trying to be funny here… did it trigger you? 🤔😅 Honestly, it kind of does to me! 🤣 JK, but seriously! I 🙋🏻♀️ counted calories for YEARS while we’ve been together. Now he’s all about getting everyone on board because he’s doing it! 🙄😬😆 And I totally get why! He’s successfully lost weight twice-first to shed pounds, and this time, it’s more about not letting food control him. 🍽️ Setting these boundaries help him exercise self-control. 💪 Meanwhile, I’ve been on an intuitive eating journey, discovering what works for me. I’ve successfully maintained weight and trust that I will loose more in time. Two boundaries I’ve set are reducing carbs and no food after dinner. Plus, I stopped drinking alcohol almost two years ago! 🍷🚫 for a second time and this time it’s for good because MY WHY is different but I digress. 🛑 Because his boundary is tracking his calorie intake, he’ll account for his food to eat while watching TV regardless of the time. And TV is something we might do in the evening. Whereas my 🙋🏻♀️ boundary is not to eat after dinner and because a movie might be something we do in the evening, I’ve learned to not eat while watching them. Besides the fact that I hated 🙅🏻♀️ how I felt during and after… 👉 Eating while watching TV can lead to several health issues such as: 1️⃣ Overeating because distraction from the screen often results in consuming more food, as individuals lose track of portion sizes and fullness cues. 2️⃣ This habit can slow down metabolism, causing food to digest more slowly and increasing fat retention. 3️⃣ Indigestion because mindless eating can lead to digestive problems due to inadequate chewing and attention which is what I 🤷🏻♀️ felt. 4️⃣ These unhealthy eating habits can affect children, in particular, who may develop poor dietary preferences, favoring unhealthy snacks while distracted and into poor health into adulthood. 🤷🏻♀️ I will not judge Brett for his choices but it’s definitely not for me! 🙅🏻♀️ If this isn’t for you either and you want to change it, here’s what you can do instead: 🎯 Be mindful of your eating habits. 🛑 It really isn’t difficult and you don’t have to agree on what was good. We didn’t! We also didn’t want to DIET. We just wanted to EAT what we liked without mindlessly doing it because we wanted to have energy TO LIVE! 🌟💪 🙋🏻 Brett wanted to be able to eat any foods he liked, whether processed or not, While I 🙋🏻♀️ wanted to eat high protein, low carb and minimally processed foods. 🛑 Because mindful eating is about having a conscious and balanced relationship with food… 🙌 We were literally freed from eating everything emotionally and mindlessly. 🫸🫷We recognized and accepted our differences and that no food was going to address our emotions. 🩶 We’re no longer afraid to address our emotions with each other and God. 🩶 We also accepted that we have different needs, likes and wants. 🏡 Brett likes to eat ⬆️ processed and fast foods which don’t affect him. SIDE NOTE: I 🙋🏻♀️ used to fight him about it and wanted him to stop but I’ve accepted that he loves what he loves, AND he’s lost and keeps loosing weight that way! If he ever decides to change that, it’s something he’ll decide on His own when ready but in the meantime, So, he 🙋♂️ applies mindfulness by tracking calories which is still freeing for him because he’s being aware of his emotions to not eat mindlessly and emotionally. 2ND SIDE NOTE: Mindful eating is also about paying attention to your body’s hunger and fullness cues throughout the day or not letting them control you through emotional eating through boundaries set. While I 🙋🏻♀️ prefer nutrient dense foods. I stopped being scared of eating fat, ditched the I can’t believe it’s not butter 🧈 and embraced the real thing! 👩❤️👨 We may eat different but what we do have in common is that neither one of us wants to indulge irresponsibly. 🛑 We pay attention to how different foods, or how much, impact our energy and mood and set boundaries to protect all the good while also addressing our emotions in a healthy way instead of with foods. 🚨Only YOU can find what’s good for you, what your limits are and what boundaries you can set so you can eat without frustration. ❌ Food is not a once size diet fits all! 🚨 You CAN find your personal triggers, find what helps and what doesn’t and start to develop boundaries for balance. 📙 You can start with our free journal: A Mindful Eating Approach to embark on your journey today!
