Work Hard, Hit Hard.
Quality, Effort, Focus.
[The Objective]
This summer, I scored a fulltime, in-office test engineering job at Torch Technologies. Outside of work, I am training as hard as I can with the resources I have to play one of the top 4 most prestigious tennis events in the world: The U.S. Open. According to ITF, there are 86 million tennis players on the planet. Of those players, I need to virtually be one of the 128 best... or beg for a wildcard :)
2024 Update: Also aiming to play pro pickleball.
[Happy 2023]
I've got a goal, a plan, and a fresh year ahead of me. Stay tuned, and let's create a community of success!

Man staying consistent w UA-cam with a full time job is super tough, shout out to you for growing your channel at this rate
I appreciate ya man!! Will keep grinding 💪🏽🔥
Cmon man you got this
Let’s do it
Vamos
Lets go!!!
Hey Vinny, I just transitioned to a one-hander a couple days ago and wondered if you could give it a look?
For sure, send a vid!
@@luckyvinny lemme know if it doesn’t go through, UA-cam is weird with links
@@luckyvinny you got an insta I can send it to?
Three doubles in the first game. Still won the set 😮 camera gave it up.
Haha I only win when the cameras on man! 🤣
Damn what a battle
Absolute grind
Your opponent is pretty good. He hits short balls pretty well.
Agreed. Was really hard to stay off of defense against him
What worked well and what didn’t for this match? Any suggestions on what I should improve next?
elbowing behind you on the serve
@@Klaas-Vaaker 👍!
Nice playing
Appreciate it!! Gotta work on the second serve 😬
Wow really high level play
Tough playing Nick!
9:18 he gave the serve out, lol
Dude what was that return at 6:49??? Do you usually return with a two handed back hand cause if not that was insane
That’s my return when I get jammed 😂
Absolutely love the channel and your videos. Keep it up. Also, it might be better to add the score on the screen for future games, even if its practice sets.
Thanks Roddi!
Some good tennis here 💪🏾
Appreciate it sir! 💪🏽🔥
Keep it up friend!! Love that your personality shines through here. I truly believe you're going to be big!!!!
Thank you Thao!! Let’s gooo 💪🏽🔥
poor nick, he never had a chance, ps i stopped the video at eighteen minutes lol. also your guys' serves are similar technique wise
Hahaha yeeeeah don’t watch past the first 18 mins 🤣 Also honored that you say our serves are similar. I think his motion is beautiful- mine needs some work!
@@luckyvinny its pretty good all things considered, im sure you'll get it figured out lol. Besides your ground game is A1
@@saschamillard8270haha thanks Sascha! It’s getting there
nice vid, just need some cleaner courts 😭
Haha we need to pressure wash them 😂
Pretty sure we are in Huntsville big man!! Good playing boys! Great video Vince!
Haha right right, well Nick and I are from Madison so that’s what I meant! Thank you brother 🙏
Switching to the left hand at 4:25!? 😮😮😮 That’s JJ wolf’s trick shot.
He learned it from me 😉🤫
Cure for crazy nerves is more experience, excited to see your progression, great you got the nerves out of the way for now, best on your journey!
Agree with you, thank you!! Planning on a more consistent tournament schedule
Both windy and on Har Tru surface ... I'd be making errors like crazy.
It was tough man! Makes you feel terrible
it looks awful to play on green clay. It looks way more slippery than regular clay
Haha it was super slippery this time since the sprinkler wasn’t working. Still wasn’t awful with the right clay shoes!
hey vinny! awesome to see all the newer road to atp point youtubers are meeting each other. Hope the grind is still going good bro
Haha yes Sascha, still loving it! Actually met Jake before I even knew he had a UA-cam channel. Hope you’re doing well too
@@luckyvinny thats awesome man! my game is really starting to come together so hopefully ill see you out at a tourney in the coming months
Would love that. Big money tournament coming up in Chattanooga you should play! Forgot where you’re from
@@luckyvinny illinois. When is it?
@@saschamillard8270 June 5 I believe. Will probably actually start the 6th or 7th
You'll get 'em next time, Vince! Can't afford the nerves there. Pray about it beforehand. :) Also, it's time to commit to the pickleball life!
Hahaha nah man no pickleball!! Thank you Law Dawg, I will
keep going !!!
Let’s get after it 😤🔥
tough one Vince, some of these guys are playing tournaments nearly every week. You're going to break through when its your time, keep grinding bro
Thank you AJ 🙏 will keep plugging away
The one point you get of me is when I slip and fall! Haha! To good man! Next tournament is the one Vince! Keep pushing!
Was a well fought point! 🤣 yessir you and me both. Let’s do it!!! 💪🏽🔥💪🏽🔥
Obviously, you need new shoes!
Loved your footwork at 11:07. So fluid and balanced. Let’s goooo!!!
Appreciate it Edger! Felt like Karue there 💪🏽😤
The first serve you put down the T was so dangerous and ATP pro-like at10:51. 😋
Haha thank you Jerry!
Such a special video! Pumped for the futures! Good luck champ!
Good luck brotha! 👊 let’s have fun tomorrow
Love your videos, best of luck. If you’re ever playing in Calif. Let us know we’ll try and come root for you. 😊
Heck yeah appreciate you! May be going out to LA this June or July for a Futures depending on flights and PTO . Will keep you updated
From the ground level it looks like your service improved a lot!
Thanks Jerry!! Gives me more confidence hearing that
Zag up
Zag up baby! 🔥
fun times
Quite an experience!
Wow! Special content by Mr Cubicle!
Quite special indeed!
From being a blue chip...to eating blue corn chips 🤣 Growing old is hard
I feel you 😂
Your breakdown on the Karue game is excellent. He never makes a bad decision, at least as far as trying to go for shots that he shouldn't. Everyone wants to be Fed but really everyone should strive to be Novak
Thank you! He really simplifies the game
Love that this popped up on my algorithm
Andres, no way!!! Love that I’m on your feed 😂
I love the level!! Last point was crazy!
Haha Houston was about to have a craaazy comeback. I’m glad he fumbled
You need to play blue chips for your level to have a good match i think.
Appreciate it, I agree with you! Though I must say Houston and PFree play like blue chips on most days, and gotta respect whoever is across the court. I believe every tennis player can play a couple notches above their normal level
@@luckyvinny you're too solid 💯
what exercise/drill can I do to have a wide stance like you?
Appreciate you saying I have a wide stance- have been trying to improve that! One thing that helped me is this band thing that forces you to keep your knees bent while you play. I’m not sure what it’s called, but I can point you to one of my videos where we use it. Outside of that, I think it’s helpful to simply just make your legs stronger. Do lots of leg exercises and get comfortable with burning the quads. Lastly, i find it easier to think of having a wide stance rather than going for a deep knee bend. Other people may have better suggestions, but that’s what worked for me
Jannik Sinner with a red hat?
Even better- it’s houston jacques
Great playing
From what I have seen of your game on YT, this is definitely the algorithm. 💪 Maybe try using the slice a bit more on the BH side and maybe step back a bit on returns so you can take a bigger cut, especially with that FH 🔥 Good luck!
Thanks a lot Cade 🙏 good luck to you as well!
houstons a solid player. Howre things going vinny?
Great man! Haven’t gotten to play any Futures this year yet, but playing pretty well. How are things going with you?
@@luckyvinny thats great to hear man, hope you get to play one soon. Pretty much got back to my pre injury level but feeling a lot of soreness so gotta be careful :(
Ahh shoot bro, the injuries are annoying :/ definitely focus on getting those fixed first and don’t rush anything. Best of luck with everything, and keep me updated with your progress
Great video Vince! Great playing too! You were just to good!
Great tennis from both of us. Enjoyed watching these clips
Great tennis both of you!
@@ericliu2708 thanks Eric!
For those who don’t know who Karue is, he’s the guy from MyTennisHQ. Really good channel, y’all should check it out.
99% of the time on youtube people overrate themselves. This is the opposite. I've seen 3.5's in my area and they are not as good as these folks. Not guilty pickleball really needs to watch this and take notes on how he rates himself and his videos.
Haha thank you! I don’t think any people in this video have DUPR ratings and was careful not to overrate anyone. I think some could be rated higher
