I stand by the fact that being able to create new characters on a single account is a largely positive gameplay loop. The game is super fun when you're just leveling up and questing and getting stuff done. Sailing is a contributing factor to this. If you try to play the game like most hardcore players do, where you stand around and loot all day, then you hardly get any of the fun out of it.

However, Mercer's is much better now with the 2023 rebalance update (1.12.0). I will have to make a new version of this video as a result.

Yeah, that's why I said "its actually like 1/20,000" in the video, because I accounted for the chance per kill for an average enemy. I sorta just said that off the cuff without the actual numbers to back myself up. :zany: For a green tag, that affects the chance of a drop, rather than a chance of that drop being a certain item. For red and yellow tags, that is 45 percent chance (note that they're the same). For a green tag, that goes down to 20 percent. As for that boss rate, that's a best estimate based off some looters who tracked the numbers and made statistical inferences based off that. There weren't boss legendaries in POTCO so a number wasn't ever coded for that specific type of drop. If you want to fact check this stuff, there's some repositories for the client code. TLOPO likely has different drop rates for their game compared to POTCO, but looters usually base concrete numbers off the POTCO code. Retribution or Classic have their codebases on GitHub. The file should be in "pirates/inventory/DropGlobals.py"
