Tech isn’t paying for Matt Rhule Lite or Dave Arranda Lite, they are paying for Joey McGuire, the three time HS State championship. He needs to stop the brand and develop his own system. Throw out the analytics book and go off the intuition that helped him win three HS state championships. He needs to be himself. Sounds cliche, but he’s implementing other people’s culture and system, which doesn’t usually work. I still think he’s the guy but he needs to be himself and cut out everything and go to the basics of football before he loses the fan base which does influence change.

The problem I had with Joey's press conference was that he should have let the d couch criticize the defence, and he should had took accountability for his bad decisions. It looked like he was trying to shift the blame as far from himself, and his offensive coach as possible.

Texas Tech ran Leach out of town and Wazzu was (and still is) ride or die for Leach. He would never pick Lubbock over Pullman for that alone.

We won the BJ game vs Ole Miss and Eli Manning in 03. It was an awesome performance by Tech. BJ should have started over Kliff in 02, but Kliff was the Senior.

Wazzu was missing their best o lineman and 2nd best wr. Wazzu’s QB didn’t need to throw the ball, Tech was rushing 3 and dropping 8.

This loss is 80% on Kittley. Reason Morton looks like crap is because he is trying to run a crap system from a crap OC. Joey gets 20% of the blame for not getting rid of Kittley.

If Adam James never went to Tech, Leach would probably have never ended up in WAState. But, James did, and so Leach did, and because of that, I think he'd pick State.

“We will learn a lot on Saturday night”. Will we? I thought we learned last week, after playing an FCS team, that our secondary is hot garbage and we are going to get torched by Wazzu. What happens after we lose by 30? Will we wait until the UNT game or the ASU game to say “we will learn a lot by this game or that game”? Its very hard being a Tech football fan 😢. I’m just so tired of losing.

I think if the secondary holds up the edge rushers will show more production. That’s a big IF. Not really worried about the linebackers but we just have to see everything come together first. They more rely on the DTs. Extremely worried about Washington St’s speed.

Good work gents! If Micah Hudson doesn't start playing at least 50% of the snaps moving forward he's bound to transfer. Even if he isn't the best guy for the position I think you still play him not only for his sake but for future 5 stars that come to Tech or are considering it. The highest rated recruit in Tech history has to be on the field no matter what.

That was Abilene Christian!!! It comes down to coaching and Tech has no one to blame but themselves. Quit hiring bros and hire people that can actually coach! How can K State, Texas, TCU, Baylor and numerous others get it right but this damn school can't!?? Last year Wyoming and then follow up with this???

Great episode guys!! Love the insight on why Micah Hudson didn't play it makes sense. I guess it sucks looking around college football and seeing receivers like OSU's True Freshman Jeremiah Smith tearing it up and Bama's 17 year old Williams do the same but our 5 star receiver isn't ready yet.
