Переглядів 511Рік тому
Supported by the K Rend team, Gavin Cairns tells us more about his experience using K Mono. K Mono is a monocouche render, designed for use with render spray machines. It acts as a one coat / one pass finish over most moderate to low strength brick and block work, providing a labour-saving and cost-effective solution due to reduced application times.

    Can you use this on top of k render ??

  • @frankiez7414
    @frankiez7414 2 роки тому

    theres no way you wouldnt coat out the bottom section when you are doing the top and then cover it over. always a bit dodgy when you see a 'plasterer' with new tools. This guy is working in clean optimal conditions with straight walls and level floors, its just not real.

    Hi we would like to use k rend product on our raised flower beds, we have curved walls and can’t get the beads to bend round them without kinking. With k rend, is it possible to form corners without using beads? If so whats the technique?

    Worst thing alumasc ever done was sell it to k rend they messed about with a great material and made it the worst on the market for roughcasting with sets to quick. # bring back alumasc

    I’ve this exact same product on my house for the last 5 years, from absolutely brand new, house AND product, and it’s definitely not for me. Although it looks good brand new, some five years on I’m left with very large patchy green bits, where algae has started to frown on the surface, it’s also incredibly had to wash off as the surface is textured. Only bleach wiping with a soft yard brush removes it, but at high high heights this is very difficult, so it’s definitely not maintenance free

    Hi. I'm a DIY'er about to have a go at rendering. I've watched many tutorials now but none seem to mention drying times / times between each pass. I am going to apply (straight onto concrete blocks) HP12 base coat and beads, then mesh, then 2nd pass of HP12. Do I then leave to completely set before applying K1 top coat or do I apply it immediately? same day? Also, do I need to apply a 'bonding adhesive' such as SBR or is the new clean blockwork going to be ok to go straight onto? TIA for you help and advice.

      You’d have no room for too coat if you done that it’s 3mm scratch , 3mm top coat then thin coat trowel on and rubbed up

    • @TheBIGchaPOWski
      @TheBIGchaPOWski 3 роки тому

      yes, you do, this is a thin coat system in the video...so this will be topped with TC15, the grains are 1.5mm and finished at that depth. If you were using a mono system you would use 10-12 mm beads, not the 6mm I'm guessing in the video, and leave some room for the desired colour topcoat.

    So if you can directly onto cast concrete lintel with hp 12. Which is a dense low suction smooth background. Why do you have to treat brickwork with a primer? Surely you should be able to just go directly over brickwork.
