All of his commands are done by the controller(s) like on NES games? Or it makes use of the 2600's switches as well?
The R.O.B. Robot was controlled by flashes on the TV screen. He would then place Gyros on pads that would press buttons on the 2nd controller, signaling the program to open gates. The program I wrote for the Atari 2600 caused the same flashing patterns to control the R.O.B. You use a controller to tell the Atari Program what you want to send, and it flashes out the code, and shows you what it should do. If you play it back at .25 or .5 speed it is a bit better.
