Excellent conversation! Thank you! I am sad about how the young men are preyed upon by the collaborators in the West Bank and the political resolve of some people is being manipulated. It is such a travesty to see and hear about the lives being lost senselessly on behalf of Israel. However, Israel is becoming less and less viable and is hitched to a crumbling empire. Resistance should remain optimistic, and optimism is a discipline that we all should practice. Ideas cannot be sniped or bombed!

I imagine being close to the issue can make it hard to see the breadth of the destruction of Israel as a concept. I live in rural Australia, right wing people who consider themselves apolitical, who’ve bought the whole war on terra complete with all the demonisation and dehumanisation, can’t look me in the face when they defend the indefensible. Not anymore. Zionists spent billions constructing an edifice of rightfulness. Was it of existential import? They thought so. It’s been completely swept away in this flood. So we’ll see.

This one hits close to home. I grew up in the mountains just Northeast of LA ('San Gabriel'). There were wildfires when I was a kid and we almost got used to them and there were times when we had to evacuate. This is different. Capitalism and Imperialism have made this planet Hell.

Us working class people have to learn quickly, we are in a class war and we need to create a community where we are. This show broke down how public resources are being used and prioritized. And, the media are blatantly showing us through their coverage.

I'm particularly struck by the way Robinson, as you describe, illuminates hidden facets of things we thought we knew well (for example, I'm very familiar with Shakespeare's works but now see it from a very different perspective). Of course, I've purchased the book to go deeper.
