Well let’s see…. I studied criminology and I worked with felons for a long time. I most definitely don’t agree with this rich hipster princess. In fact I don’t know a single colleague who does agree with her. What is the primary intent of incarceration? To segregate already established predators from the public so they won’t get to victimize anyone else. Are violent offenders generally safe to release back into the public again? Most often not. Why do most violent offenders do what they do? Mostly for the thrill and the feeling of power they receive from wronging other human beings. What is the intent behind theft? To make fast easy money. Why grind away for wages when you can make 600 times as much to take from people who grind their lives away for a wage? When do rich royalty bred progressives take crime seriously? Only when it happens to them or someone they care for.
