Creating a waste grid in lightburn.
Переглядів 2,9 тис.5 місяців тому
This is a longer video, but I go through the whole process of creating an alignment grid in lightburn. I also touch on the cuts and layers, and I show how to use the grid once you burn it. I was going to add timestamps, but it seems you have to have 1000 subscribers to link chapters. So you will have to scrub through the video if you don't want to watch the whole thing. Sorry! The grid file is ...

How to load and lave a lightburn art library file. Lightburn art library files (*.lbart) cannot just be opened by windows, or lightburn for that matter. You must load the file. In this video, I try to explain the procedure, and how to create your own art libraries. In this video, I talk about my template helper library. Magnetic Board Holders

Combat warping of your material by making these easy to use board holders. Cuts on a single 12x12 board, and using easily accessible magnets from Amazon, you can make these very quickly. Make sure you have a metal honeycomb, some are made of aluminum and magnets will not work. I can never get TRACE to get everything I need or want. Why cant lightburn have a simple button to make an image a vector?

    • @laserengravedsolutions
      @laserengravedsolutions 3 місяці тому

      Maybe someday they will. But I have to do a lot of editing and adjusting when I trace. There are several free sites that you can use to make vectors.

    This is built into Lightburn under the material library, no extra spreadsheet required

      Yes that’s true but for new people it isn’t easy to pick up on. So this is a good way until they can switch to the materials library. Thank you for your comment!

    OK, I just registered for the club. I do have a quick question. Will you be able to scan the files that are shared in the forum for any malware? If not I suggest you do a disclaimer that you are not responsible for the shared files or any damage that might occur by using the shared files. Got to CYA. Also if you have an LLC for your business can you add this club into the LLC, just to protect yourself. Sorry, Just a couple of thoughts that might be helpful. I wouldn’t post this one in your comment section though. I am TangoDelta01 in the club. Otherwise, Thank you and I look forward to a great club.

      The clean up after the trace would probably be a lot. You can engrave photos directly but probably best to convert to grayscale first.

    Just wanted to point out your 3 bottom squares are not lined up. When you originally created them in array you didn’t select your left square when you grouped them. Grab a ruler and lay it across the bottom 3 squares top edges.

    Thanks man, you taught me something new. I wasn't aware of the Art Library. I learned a couple of weeks back that if you don't constantly save your material Library, that a reboot will erase them..

    • @laserengravedsolutions
      @laserengravedsolutions 5 місяців тому

      Libraries, both art and material, are files on your computer. A reboot will not erase them. They are like any other file on your computer. Have yours been disappearing?

    • @bhaelhalelthebastard6014
      @bhaelhalelthebastard6014 5 місяців тому

      @laserengravedsolutions my mistake was that I didn't know it stored them as files at first and had not clicked save at all before Windows forced a reboot and all of my settings for the past 6-8 weeks were gone

    I find when tracing an image one of the most useful tools is the "Fade Image" selection in the trace function. It allows you to easily see what is and isn't being traced while still yet seeing a ghost of your image to ensure your getting what you want vs noise and etc.

    • @laserengravedsolutions

    Nice tutorial, I definitely need to make one of these for my sculpfun. Not sure why it bothered me that you didn't lock the dimensions instead of typing each measurement twice 😁 a little more effecient!

      Not everything I do is square so I just got used to typing both dimensions. Thanks for your comment!

    Very helpful! I was able to put my first image in the library. As a newbie to lasers and LB I have a couple suggestions. First, if it's possible, enlarge your cursor so we can follow it easier and, second, if you could talk/select a bit slower. I had to replay the portion where you said "open the art library" half a dozen times before I could detect where you went with the cursor to make that selection. Thanks

    Your video presentation was poor and misleading. It was entitled ART LIBRARY, yet you went into great details about laying out the bullseye instead of just importing it into your framework. Total waist of time and another subject. All you had to do is show how to import graphic, tracing it if necessary, and saving it to the art library. Also too many speech pauses.

      I’m sorry you weren’t happy with my video and waster your time. This is my first real tutorial video channel and I started it because I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. So this is all new to me, and just learning.

    15:14 Finally I have an art library lol thank you. I know someone in my Facebook group was asking how to save images in there as it kept going to her materials library. I don't think she knew how to find it either. Also I find that I have to enlarge my screen whenever I open lightburn or I can't see the bottom tabs This was meant for your video about the art library 😊
