Rock fishing for Pollock and Wrasse
In this episode of Fisherman in Kerry, we head out to a stunning rock mark to try some lure fishing for Pollock and Wrasse using a variety of soft plastics. We also demonstrate how NOT to use a drop net. Filmed just off the ring of Kerry and looking out over the Dingle peninsula with the Blasket islands off in the distance. Do Sunday afternoons get any better?

Dry fly fishing for trout in the mountains
Переглядів 4,1 тис.3 роки тому
In the first episode of Fisherman in Kerry, we head up into the Kerry mountains to a magnificent lake to fly fish for some Rainbow Trout. Using dry flies on the surface, can we tempt some of the bigger fish in the lake to come up to the surface... all in the middle of a heatwave. Filmed on the jaw dropping Lough Barfinnihy with the stunning MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains in the background. Fis...
Pops! (Me)says well done 👏 😊❤😘🐟🥳😋
Really would love to get to Kerry the Granada’s is from banna beach ❤ new little sun from us here in jersey. Fishing looks buzzing bud
Could you recommend someplace in kerry
Nice work over there. Quick question : Why do you set the fish free after catching it? What's the point after all?
Where is that? Could you recommend someplace
Buzzers ! Definitely worth a go . Probably just feeding below the surface. Love Molls Gap as I call it , fished it hundreds of times over 40 years. Great video
Good luck! Random!!!
Lovely place, kerry man here, I would like to fish here, what's the place called?
great video, get some sinking lines with lures there good for bigger fish
First
Excellent. Just subscribed. My eldest son and family live in Killarney. Was there in October after 18 months due to covid. I did some scouting along the ring of Skellig and Kerry. Bringing my spinning rods next time.
Definitely bring the spinning rod next time!! Absolutely spoilt for marks around here.
Nice job, lovely evening in a great location. Nice fish handling too, it was very hot during those heatwaves so it was nice to see you keep the net in the water as much as you could and also wetting your hands before handling the fish. Be nice in future videos to give a brief outline of what rod, line, leader etc you have been using
Thanks for watching Liam! Appreciate the feedback mate and will look to bring in to future videos.
Looks lovely, very similar to Welsh Upland Llyn fishing, not sure how long you've been fishing but a couple of tips for you: Keep your rod tip low, almost touching the water, you'll feel more takes. Hang your flies at the end of the retrieve, you'll be surprised how many follows you get. Cast and step, so cast out in a fan a few tmes then a couple of steps to one side and repeat, you'll cover more fish that way.
Thanks for the tips David!!
The guy obviously knows what he's doing ! Any other useful advice. ! Like : don't forget to attach fly to line before starting to fish. ?
Nice catch! Sick of watching all these clips with folk catching mini-trout! I agree - ⛺ = there for eve + morning rises...
Thanks!!
Lovely video very nice.
Nice one!
Hi, i think i meet you last week near Cahersiveen. Now i watching your channel, uneven coincidence :)
Hahaha. What are the chances! Was nice to meet you man
@@fishermaninkerry6720 Maybe some day we can go together for fishing?
Nice one Ash, perseverance and a few last casts proved successful 👍🏻
Always does Neil... thanks for watching again mate!
Lovely stuff man. Dying for a Wrasse myself
We’ll definitely have to meet up next time you are down this way!
That last wrasse was a chunky bugger, nice one mate 👏
Thanks man!
Brilliant video in a stunning location! Well done! 😊
Thanks Winnie!
Nice video mate, are their any wild browns or anything else in there? Got the base for a good channel, locations like this will get you some good views. Just some advice I would include something maybe earlier like a clip of what’s to come, to get people to stay and watch. Because if a video has a good average watch time it will be recommended to more people. I’m no expert but you look like you’re starting a good channel👍 Subbed keep it up!
Thanks man! There are some wild browns in there too but they are extremely rare. Thanks for the advice on the video too, can’t wait to get out and film another!
Damn good first video. Beautiful fish and location. Only advice I would give is show a little clip of the action to come after your intro to wet viewers appetites
Thanks for watching and for the advice mate! Can’t wait to get out and try and make another one.
@@fishermaninkerry6720 it becomes addictive. Drop you a sub to help you along. When you’ve done a few I will give you a shout out
Good stuff and some very nice fish in a stunning location 👌
Thanks Neil. Appreciate the support mate!
