Installing a dashcam in a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport through the under hood fuse box
Explaining how I wired the dashcam through the under hood fuse panel. I tapped into a powertrain control module circuit. Requires a little trimming of the fuse box, and leaving a cover off.

The Martins
Переглядів 82 роки тому
This is not really a comparison video, but I discuss my 1996 HD-28 and my 2021/2 (not sure which it is until Martin updates the S/N list!). I talk about my limited understand of the differences between the tone woods. So my "facts" regarding wood rating by Martin may not be facts at all.
Why so many guitars?
Переглядів 192 роки тому
People see my collection and often ask "Why so many?" They think I have them just to have them. Actually, they all represent different things and/or have a unique purpose. I decided to make a video to explain this. I have all I need right now, no more, no less (well, one exception which I may introduce to you soon enough).

An old applause (Ovation low end cheapo model). Fantastic guitar. It really is. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me any more about it. I know it isn't worth much, just wondering when it was made and why oh why they thought that headstock was a good idea!

    I just spent way too much much time trying to find a fuse to check and make sure it wasn’t blown. The fact that the manual doesn’t say anything about it being underneath is ridiculous. Thank you for the clarification. Good job installing the dash camera.

    What fuses did you use for your install? Have you had any issues since the install?

    Do a shot every time I say “high output” . Not sure why I focused on that. I also left out that the fenders/single-coil guitars have particularly wonderful and individually unique clean tones compared with the humbuckers.

    Yeah, I know. Audio is bad. I should have checked my GoPro before recording the whole thing!

    The XR-1 was blessed with zebra Dirty Fingers pickups, and a common coil tap switch for both pickups. The XR-1 did not come equipped with a pickguard. Your XR-1 is actually a GOLDburst. So was mine. The goldburst was cursed with the orange peel feeling of the finish. I bought mine in the 80's used for $225. I lost it and my other guitars in a house fire in 1998. Man, I LOVED that XR-1! I've since replaced it with other Gibson Les Pauls, but not another XR-1.

      You are right about the orange peel texture to the finish. I thought it might be age, but it indeed could be the quality of the finish. And the dirty fingers pickups really do make this guitar sound great.

      Mid body kit worked, I think, but I also adjusted the accelerator pump…Check that…make sure it is squirting…lots of good vids on this. I just have to make sure I pump it four times when it is cold, Then it starts in a couple kicks.

    How do the xr1 compare to customs?

  • @macgse
    @macgse 3 роки тому

    The XR1 didn't come with a pickguard. Also, there is no weight relief. The "Gibson" logo is also about a quarter inch lower than yours and is inlayed in mine. The Studio is closer to the XR2 or 3. The XR1 being a hot pickup version of the "standard" all its own.

    Hey Glenny, was that xr-1 straight into the amp, or did you have some effect, overdrive? And thanks for the sound comparison!

    • @glenny314

      They are both straight into the amp...just a little on board reverb.

    My XR-1 (81) is almost identical to yours but doesn't have a pick guard and the plastic covers around the pickups are dark colored as is the plastic piece around the switch for the pickups. Love it.

      @glenny314 4 роки тому

      guitarstrunged I added all of the differences you mention. So long ago, I can’t remember why. When I bought it it had no pickguard and black around the pickups.

    Someone probably modified it, I have done it. You can tell by the glossy finish on the headstock. Its a 90's ae-38. Maybe even a prototype from the factory. But they definitely just cut the middle piece out and ran a router around it.

    got mine at a thrift store, dirt cheap, changed strings, straightened neck, incredible guitar! now my "couch guitar". love it! headstock doesn't look like that though, very strange, looks like a missing piece.

    Love the XR1 but I am biased because I own one and its the only LP I have. I have had since it was brand new. Christmas gift when I was 14 years old. Mine is kinda strange because it is solid black and according to Gibson they never made a black XR1. Like I said it was bought brand new so I know for a fact it was never refinished.
