Autozone Inside/Outside Blend door motor actuator clicking again on 99 Chevy Silverado 1/17/2024
Autozone Inside/Outside Blend door motor actuator clicking again on 99 Chevy Silverado. I had already replaced the original one with this unit I bought at Autozone. Then it started acting up again, most likely because the plastic gears inside the actuator broke or stripped the plastic gears again. Even though the part has a lifetime warranty, it's still a pain in the ass because you have to remove the entire top dash to get at the motor. If you're lucky to have somewhat smaller hands like me, you could get away with using a long quarter inch extension to get at the actuator mounting screws to remove the unit. There's some UA-camrs that are making videos of cutting the plastic ducting & re-taping it back together just to replace the unit. You really shouldn't have to do that if you use the quarter inch ratchet with the long extension and quarter inch swivel.

Installing MCARBO Spring upgrades on Kel-Tec P11 before breaking hammer & finding crack on frame
Переглядів 622 місяці тому
This was a quick video I took of installing my MCARBO spring upgrades on my Kel-Tec P11 before I realized I had a small crack on the frame and before I broke the edge of the hammer while trying to punch out the pin that holds the hammer spring to the hammer. I polished the part of the frame where the trigger bar moves, even though I noticed that crack. I also polished the trigger bar, the hamme...
MCARBO Spring & Guiderod for KEL-TEC P11
Переглядів 182 місяці тому
Here's a side by side comparison of MCARBO stainless steel guiderod & 20 lb recoil springs vs. OEM Kel-Tec P11 polymer guiderod & recoil springs. I noticed the guiderod seems to touch the barrel when slide is locked to rear, & I'm not sure if it is supposed to be that way. I'll have to test fire the pistol after everything is installed to see if it all functions as claimed.

Fixing Spike's Tactical ST9G Magazine catch issue with "tooth crown" modification.
Переглядів 163 місяці тому
This short video shows what the tooth looks like after I glued a small polymer piece to the top part of the mag catch tooth in order to get the Glock mags to sit higher up in the mag well of my Spike's Tactical ST9G lower. I used Gorilla glue for this and let it sit over night. But if you have a better and stronger glue to use, that should work too. I just didn't want to make my improvised expe...

Colt platform is the OG and more reliable.
Same issue last night with the same color 33 round mag
Love these guns and this company but they need to stock replacement parts instead of just buying a new gun. I have three of these guns, nonworking, one in pieces and two are together but the trigger catch is broken on them. My latest 3.0 is holding on 3+ years but needs a good cleaning.
I have a Brigade AR9 5.5 inch and it cycles everything, including 158 grain Fiocchi, Civil Defense, Gold Dot, HST, and even frangible. Factory Glock mags serve me well, but i also have ETS 9mm stick mags that never give me attitude. By chance is that a polymer lower? If so, that may be a huge part of the problem. It almost looks like the geometry is off on how far up your mags are going versus how far it should. Odd that a 9mm ar is that finicky like a 1911.
@@FirstLineOfDefense No, definitely not a polymer lower. The crown on the tooth of my mag catch came off a few weeks ago. I just glued it back on with the same Gorilla glue. But I dont expect it to hold for very long again. Hopefully Rudy from Macon Armory starts making that mag catch soon.
Same issue im having idk what to do might fuck around an sell mine 🤦♂️
Did you get any response back from Macon? Taccom does its own specific designed barrel with upper and lower feed ramps!
Yeah, Rudy said it's the lower issue. I got this bad boy running already. Check out my videos on "crowning" the tooth on the mag catch. But if you try it, feel free to use an adhesive stronger than Gorilla glue. It worked for me & hasnt vine off so far. But I'm sure there's better adhesives out there
Same issue brother smh
I think I got mine working now. But it only likes my OEM Glock mags and my ETS 30 rd mag. Doesn't lock in my Magpul 17 rd mag
@@garveyshango check out my videos on how to fix this problem by "crowning" the tooth on the mag catch.
I ordered mine from gunmagwarehouse for 11.99 a box and they look just like the ones you bought at the store. Let’s hope they didn’t sell you some replicas. lol
Some guns just won't shot hollow points. You got lucky
My Jerry-Rigged "crown" on the mag catch tooth seems to have worked so far. I took it out and successfully ran hollow points thru it. BUT...and that's a big BUT, so far it will only catch the notch of OEM Glock mags, not my Magpul or ETS mag. I'm going to leave it like that for now. One of my firearms instructors did have 1 fail to feed with the 33 round stick but that was it. All the rounds I put through it I didn't have a single fail to feed and it Randolph's 147 grain duty hollow points like clock work. Check out The other video I have where it shows how I took a polymer magazine dust cover for a Magpul AR15 mag and filed the "crown" for the magazine catch and glued it with gorilla glue. It is by no mean a permanent fix, As I am still waiting for Rudy from Macon armory to produce the proper magazine catch for it. A co-worker of mine 3D printed a couple of prototypes out of plastic and I can't get them filed right enough to fit in so he cut 3D print one out of aluminum after measuring the prototype.
Just got some blazer brass, $13.50 per fifty. Good practice ammo!
Different lot batches,
If anyone knows how to re-assemble the unit, I'd appreciate some guidance. Mine had the same problem, but nothing seemed to be broken - maybe just out of place. But now there's a small triangular piece with a spring attached that I can't put back.
I just stack them as is, never had a problem.
Apparently, from what I'm seeing, they stack fine with a good amount of weight on them. But not when empty or light weighted.
That’s crazy and this is a Glock product
Ok, when I started my quest to run HP's out of mine. They would run pretty good. It has been years ago. Maybe one fail to feed every 20 rounds or so. I promise you it is not the mag. You put that mag in a G17 or G19 and it will run anything. Now it could be the mag catch. That is a ton of wobble. That magwell has way to much play. I will say again though. Your bolt looks to be traveling way and I mean way to far rearward. I wish I could talk to you on the phone.
I got this bad boy running already, Señor...😊😊
Hmmm, looks like the bolt is moving to far to the rear. Definitely is not the mag. Lots of slop in the mag well. I would make a shim to kick the mag back or just buy an American Resistance gear lower. Quarter Circle 10 or something.
That's the thing: I don't want to put any more money into this thing. I paid $300 for the whole thing. Then I paid Rudy $150 to re- do the barrel feedcone, "recondition" my bolt, and for one of his buffers. I installed the mag catch last night that Spike's Tactical sent me, & it's the exact same mag catch. If the" tooth" that goes in the magazine notch was twice the height it is, it would probably solve the issue. But its not.
Oh, and the bolt is not moving too far to the rear.
@victorramosjr2239 Yeah, I think you told me in my video you shimmed with quarters until it just past the bolt catch. I wish I could swap it around on some of my stuff. Unfortunately I suspect it is the lower receiver. In particular the mag well. If you have a 5.56 lower. The Mean Arms Endomag is a great option. It replaces the guts of a 30 round pmag to feed 9mm. Then you have this awesome long feed ramp. Only downside the ejector is on the mag. So, if you need to open and show clear. You have to thumb or finger out the last round. Well, I guess another downside if you carry a Glock you lose that compatibility. A big upside though it will feed great and it is a cheaper way to train for 5.56 or 300bo etc...
Here I am sir
Stay with the Glock OEM recoil spring assembly. The 9mm don’t have the kind of recoil to justify the guide rod.😅
You should use parts that meant for your gun.
I had the same problem with my gen 4 and didnt seem to effect its operation at all, put the same one in my gen 5 and does it as well. It is the 16lb spring but now that its warn in it does not seem as tight as my factory spring thinkin about an 18lb and prolly ware in and be closer to the 16lb factory is my guess, but the spring tension seem softer on my GS store spring now and dont think its was like that brand new
Well isn't that the wrong part for your gun? You have a Glock 26 GEN 5 gun and the package says for Gen 1,2, and 3????
So can you do it through the glove box without removing the upper dash! Seems like a lot of work! I also have a 99 Silverado that just started to do the same thing. Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't think you can. I remember using a long quarter inch extension to remove the bolts. & the only way to use that extension to remove ther bolts was thru the top, implying the removal of the top of the dash.
Did you have to re-calibrate the actuator? I have already replaced my blend door actuator, which is the one under that one on the bottom and it’s clicking. I got a new one and I’m just wondering do I need to recalibrate it after I install it ? If so, could you tell me how are you done your recalibration for that one because that is the same kind I have on my 99. Thanks
No. You don't have to recalibrate it. You just have to make sure you don't apply power to it until its fully mounted with its screws. If you put power to it before mounting it just to "test" it, you're going to mess it up. If its clicking, the plastic gears in the unit are either broken of slipping. Time to replace it.
@@victorramosjr2239 thank you. I changed it and it’s working fine as of right now. How do you know if the top blend door , the fresh air one is bad or not working correctly? Would the recirculate light not come on or blink maybe ? Thanks for your reply and help.
@@jeremyLtaylor1 that one you can see open & close By removing the glovebox door. If you lower the door and turn the switch on from resurculate to outside air you will see the flap moving in and out underneath the dash of the vehicle. Another way you can tell if it's not working right as if you hear It clicking. If you hear the little motor clicking that means that the little plastic gears inside are either cracked or the screw mechanism that turns the skiers is stripped.
Exactly what happened to my 3.0
This just happened to mine
Mine sounds like a dying squirrel. I am guess this is the issue. Thoughts? I know it is not the other actuator or the blower motor. It is constant.
You don't have a gen 3 looks like 4 or 5 could be the problem
What was yours doing? I think mine is messed up too I’m not getting no cold air from my vents also the air don’t blow as strong
Check your cabin air filter too. It might be real dirty.
I have the same item in a G26 gen3. Absolutely no issues at all. Get a Gen 3 sell the Gen 5.
Buy new one return old one
They got serial #'s on them, believe it or not
@@victorramosjr2239 really? Where is it located? Anyway, most large scale companies don't care. Especially for low price items. I've used this technique on powertools several times and have never had an issue. I've used it at all the big box shops and Amazon. I call it the switchArooney warranty.
How!! I think you need stitches, and get out the extractor for all the blood on your seat.
You have the wrong guide rod. That’s a Gen 3 guide rod.
Sir, this video is a godsend! We were gifted this same trampoline when some friends kids grew out of playing with it - the green pipes are all broken and I can’t handle looking at it. I’ve been searching for days for replacement parts, new nets, ring inserts etc. This is such a cheap and easy fix, I’m going to Lowe’s tomorrow!!! 🙏🏼
Thank you. I'm happy to hear it will work out for you. Just keep in mind that after about a year or 2 of having those pipes they will get a little sunburnt depending on what part of the country you live at. We have since got rid of our trampoline as our son outgrew it and the whole material just became decrepit and unsafe to jump on. Good luck!
You have the wrong guide rod for the the gen 5
Something is definitely wrong, possibly taking it out of battery
Don’t know if you ever got this figured out BUT this is when the striker spring is overpowering the recoil spring. If you put a 4.5/5 striker spring in instead of oem 6# spring the problem will go away.
i know every1 is saying this but u need a gen 5 guide rod
You have a Gen 5 Glock 26 and you are trying to use a Gen 1-3 part in it. This is why it doesn't work!!
It states not for gen 5....they require a lighter spring....the lone wolf has an allen head at the guide rod end to replace springs....
U Got The WRONG Guide Rod...
I took mine apart and I found the problem. There is a part of the plunger that helps retract the main spring. The thing is a stress failure just waiting to happen. Since they blame supply chain issues on not being able to sell customers' parts, you have 2 options: glue or mill the part in question. I'm going to glue it first, and then if it fails again, I'll try to mill it.
Well, I don't have high speed skills for milling a part. Besides, I think I chucked that thing in the recycling bin, if I remember correctly. I still have the refurbished one they sent me in what I think was an effort to keep me hush-hush about the design flaw in that Bug-A-Salt.
@VICTOR RAMOS JR that is nice to know. I'm going to send them pictures and ask for that part, but I'm not going to expect much since it is beyond the warranty.
You could have avoided this pointless video with some critical reading skills lol
Ouch!!! 😄 Remember, I didn't buy this guide rod. I bought the gun from a coworker & it was in the gun. Luckily, he also gave me the original one that came with the gun plus a few other extras like a appendix holster that I later sold to recoup some $.
Other than the incorrect guide rod possibly, you're gonna also need a camera tripod ....
Yeah, I suck at making these films sometimes, more often than not.
Keep it up bro, but try cleaning it at slower tempos then u can speed it up
Thanks Rod. I'll pass this feedback on to him when he wakes up.
You have to have generation five parts for Generation 5. You'll shoot your eye out kid
Better off with the stock guide rods for All Glocks.
ummmmm you got the one for gen 1 2 3
The box says it's for a Gen 1, 2, 3 but when he takes the aftermarket guide rod out, the tip is a Gen4, 5 rod. The Gen 1,2,3 is smaller in diameter. That being said, it's the wrong guide rod in that box, so it could be a heavier pound and maybe even for another gun altogether. It's not like he bought the guide rod from the Glockstore. It came with the gun purchase. Never trust other people's mods.
Just call the Glock store
Well first thing off you have a Gen 5 but the tungsten rod says Gen 1 2 and 3 I think the Gen 5's have a different style rod that has a two-step type rod spring.
