Here's The Palomars tongue-in-cheek nod to the fellas that left their loved ones to find riches in the gold rush of the 1850s. Filmed on location at Derby Reach in Fort Langley, BC by the site of the gold rush town that sprung up in 1858 when the gold rush was on. "Swing Valley Drifter" is one of 13 tracks available on the Palomars "Supper Club Riot" album due out in July, 2017. www.thepalomars...

B11 lap steel hawaiian music - "Sand" featuring Tom Hammel

After acquiring a 6 string lap steel, I thought I would try the B11 tuning which is suited to Hawaiian music, but can also work well with western swing/jazz. After the song, I talk a little about the B11 tuning.

Space Age Chevy

"Space Age Chevy" was inspired by the "Populuxe" movement of the 1950s. The term comes from a combination of popular and luxury and was associated with consumerism, modern architecture, and futuristic and Space Age influenced design aesthetics. The movement was optimistic in nature, futurist and technology focused. I mean who wouldn't want to take a ride to the moon in a "Spage Age Chevy"? www....

The Palomars At Lonsdale Quay Market - Highlights
Переглядів 1,1 тис.9 років тому
Here are some of the songs performed by the Palomars at the Lonsdale Quay Market on July 12, 2015. Some of the folks from Royal City Swing came out and showed everyone how danceable this rockabilly/swing music really is. Except for the guy standing up front who seemed fixated on bassist Ken Wilson's stellar playing. Videography courtesy the lovely Lindy Nadon www.thepalomars.net

Do you guys tour at all in the upper midwest USA ?
Hi there; no, we don't do much touring at all. We're based in Vancouver, Canada. We'd love to do some festival style gigs, but we'd have to cover travel costs, etc and costs of getting US work permits. Fees for that have just gone up too: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/canada-u-s-musician-work-permit-1.3823526
Cool song which has the proper rockabilly sound. I like it!
