On August 24, 1992, Hurricane Andrew made landfall directly on Biscayne National Park. At that time, it was the costliest natural disaster in US history. Filmed just a month after the storm, this film describes the before, during and after with park employees who lived through the event.

    loving all of these episodes! I am an elementary education major at the University of West Alabama and will be using these for a National Park Thematic Unit assignment for one of my classes. I chose Biscayne National Park because it is different from the National Parks I grew up around, and I plan to move to either Biscayne or Homestead after I graduate. These videos are perfect for elementary students, and I myself have learned so much from watching them!

    My family had farms on Elliott’s Key in the 1870’s - 1920’s. I Recommend two books: Charlottes Story and LEMON CITY.
