Lily is adorable in theory, but I saw her in game once on a recent villager hunt, and I personally find her eyes terrifying. Moe, however, is my absolute #1 fav villager. Mostly for sentimental reasons from New Leaf. But I was lucky enough to find him in New Horizons as well, before I knew he was even in the game. To say I freaked out is an understatement

TBF to Catty, it’s a game from a Japanese company so a very American racist image probably wasn’t particularly on their radar, especially back then when the resources for catching such things were more limited. Seems kinda like a Jynx situation, in which the Pokémon is actually based on Yama Uba, a yokai commonly depicted with dark skin, white or blonde hair, and a red kimono and is popularly portrayed in Japanese theatre and the actors’ makeup can easily be mistaken for blackface to someone unfamiliar. I think that villager is a similar deal. Since she’s unused, though, it seems they did catch the cultural issue and act on it, further showing no intent to be offensive. And while he obviously doesn’t speak for all black people, a friend of mine who is black found the hair thing just completely stupid because… it’s a kid’s Animal Crossing character in a cute hairstyle…

The other problem with the sanrio cards was that a lot of Targets "Didn't know" they were online only and sold them in person on the floor. There were pictures of the packs on eBay that were taken IN TARGET.

Well this video was rather a pointless. It had only 2 real controversies in it, which were non-surprisingly also put pretty low, while every other "controversy" came not from Animal Crossing but the fans of it, which to be honest, first there are far more and worse controversies out there which involves fans from Animal Crossing, and second is that this basically giving for any popular franchise out there. Also having two bad memories about something doesn't make it a controversy. Also exploiting a game also does not make a controversy. And everyone who ever played animal crossing knows that there is always only one save file for the same. This is also not a controversy, even thou a lot of people were mad about the one console rule, it is literally because you can download it, therefore you can't use one cartridge one save file rule anymore.
