I put some bananas out and rats came to feast on them overnight. that made me leave them out for the birds. Have a look at some of my backyard birds feeding on a bunch of bananas. Do you know any of the species? leave a comment if you do. Some of the banded birds also featured in this video.

For the second year in a row the 3KCBirding Team recorded the rare Buff-breasted Sandpiper in Grenada. This one here was seen foraging with some American Golden Plovers in an open grassland field used to graze cattle through the year. You can see the way it walks around in that characteristic strutting walk. enjoy this rare bird.

we use mist nets, so they fly into the net and land in a shelf...then we release them after recording the information...usually they are not harmed

Yow I heard multiple person’s say that the ground dove can’t be raise inside of cage because they will fly up n down in the cage n hit their head which will result in a them killing themself .. is that true
They do stress very easily so yeah that should be true.

Egyptian Geese,actually ducks,are increasing in their range here in the UK,especially London where i often see AND HEAR them,usually in monogamous pairs or small groups

What is the purpose of blowing like that on that Hummingbird? Please explain.
You blow to expose the area of the chest that a brood patch (exposed area with no feathers) may be. You can also use it to assess how much fat the bird is carrying.
So we can blow there to determine the sex of the bird as well as how healthy it is. Blowing is easier than using your fingers, plus it's less damaging to the bird.
Ive never seen someone hold a hummingbird, let alone see it calm at the same time. It surely trusts you and understands most your intentions. Very amazing to see.
