I know that Cavaliers aren't supposed to be trimmed but doggone Louis looks super! I found myself thinking should I get my Cavalier trimmed like Louis? I certainly would be MUCH easier to maintain (that long hair gets muddy, tangles easily, and oh those snowballs in the winter). I'd sure like to get the supplies that you used at least. Kudos to you!
@@sharonarty5390 so spaniels sort of have a double coat which is better handstripped or just brushed and trimmed but a lot of people like them to just go short all over. Most people have their legs and feet short too as they are sponges on a walk lol, but Louie’s owners love his fluffy legs and feet! Xx
I’m not a speed groomer either. I always go up 2 clip combs and do the body in reverse. Saves loads of time and makes the coat nice and even. I think you did a nice job.
@@DonnaTheDogGroomer haha il never be a speed groomer! I try to do them as quick as I can but it’s 1.5-2 hours per dog- I can’t do hour grooms like some shops do! I like to perfect mine 🥰 I’ve tried rev clipping but I struggle with it and I don’t wanna damage their coats so unless I’m trying to blend, I go the coat direction :p xx
@ I take 1.5-2 hours also! I schedule my grooms 2 hours apart, so I don’t feel rushed or stressed out.

I’ve owned 2 Cavaliers and I groomed mine myself. They aren’t supposed to be clipped except between their toes. Both of mine had beautiful long coats. If people want a beagle that’s what they should own. They must be brushed often to remove matting and never air dry.
i was taught they never get clipped either. Strange

The mats behind the ears are real, my tri girl will sit there all day and let you brush and comb to your hearts content, my blenheim girl on the other hand... you get 5 minutes and she's done and you can only brush her back and her fluffy pants (back legs, when we get her feet trimmed they look like she's wearing pants it's really cute) so her ears and chest are a complete mess, we have to shave the mats from behind of her ears between grooms.
He’s adorable! We have a Cavapoo (aka Cavoodle), a hybrid bred of the Cav and a mini poodle. Her Cav parent must have been the black and white type, because our dog is white with shades of gray and black. She strongly resembles the Cavalier parent. Her coat is very dense, making it difficult to apply anything topically. She loves her groomer, and her groomer says she is the perfect client. I keep her ears as short as possible, because she was having trouble with yeasty infections in her ears. Louie is one pretty boy! Liked and Subscribed. Thanks for this video!

@@GroomingWithCat It frustrates me, too! Although our Mia’s head and face are quite dark and it’s difficult to get a photo that shows her eyes, which have black rings around them. They are not the almost-black color that most dogs have. They are brown like human brown eyes. They are the most human eyes I’ve ever seen on a dog. This little guy you groomed is sooo cute! Thank you for sharing him with us!
It's not a "hybrid". They're both the same species. That's a mixed breed, given an expensive, designer name.
@ Well, technically it’s a mutt! Any mixed breed is, and, imo, they are the BEST dogs you could ask for! As they say, a rose by any other name would still be a rose!
