La Fruta Cítrica Más Cara del Mundo: LA MANO DE BUDA.
Переглядів 152День тому
Una fruta de forma perfecta puede costar hasta 170 dólares. Esta fruta se utiliza mucho en ceremonias religiosas en China, India, Vietnam y otros países asiáticos. La piel de la fruta es muy fragante y se utiliza en repostería y productos perfumados. Según registros antiguos, Gautama el Buda prefería la fruta con los dedos cerrados que parecen una mano durante la meditación. MUSIC: UA-cam Audio...

    I tried grafting in the month of January to March when the buds started swelling but my grafts did not take off. Though the weather in the day time is worm but in the night is quite cold which I suppose is the main cause of failure. Could you let me know the best time of grafting.

    • @growpuravida
      @growpuravida 2 дні тому

      Depends, which tree are you referring to? Avocados can be grafted in Jan, Feb, March. Mangos not a good idea because the trees are in flowering/fruiting mode rather than vegetative growth. Other fruit trees differ so it depends. And climate/location also is important subtropics vs temperate climate, please specify which location and what tree you are grafting.

    I'm from the land of a tropical Cambodia, and we Khmers are also accustomed to eating guava at its optimum crispy green but sweet. At Asian specialty markets across the USA, you'd most likely find only the crispy green ones. Unlike folks raised in Western culture, they like their fruits to be mushy soft.

    • @growpuravida
      @growpuravida 12 днів тому

      We made a cactus stand with tung oil, not raised beds, unfortunately the info came later)) linseed oil doesn’t last even one season. The raised beds in the video are completely protection-free, we didn’t reoil them since the year they were made, so this is what it is with 2 layers of linseed oil at the inception

  • @ItemHazard
    @ItemHazard 12 днів тому

    Was this used with tung oil? Would linseed oil protect the “burnt look” of the wood I wonder 🤔 Thanks for the update

    • @growpuravida
      @growpuravida 12 днів тому

      No, linseed oil. Watch the video about making cactus support- we made it with tung oil several years ago, the stands don’t touch the soil but they are constantly exposed to crazy FL sun and rains, and they still look exactly the same as the day they were made!

    Videos always make grafting seem very easy, until you try it and discover you have butter fingers.🤣 I think I'll try this soon. Thank you for the video. Is there a reason why this grafting method is more rare?

    • @growpuravida
      @growpuravida 11 днів тому

      Yes, there are so many factors why grafts fail despite a good grafting skill. 3 most important ones are wrong season( vigorous rains, dry winds, scorching sun vs cloudy etc.), wrong tree( tree not in good health or good vigor due to disease or poor roots, or scion is from unhealthy tree) and the last one is knife lacking the needed sharpness for a good cut. This particular technique is not rare, but with mangos the easier approach to top-work a tree is to slice it at the level you want, usually 4-5 ft from the ground, make a slant cut so water accumulation doesn’t rot the sliced top and then wait 2 months to get 6-8 new shoots from there to graft onto. Most people use this technique because mango trees are very forgiving to complete slicing/pugging. Where i am, the mountain winds are very crazy and the sun will dry any scion out in a day. So keeping the upper canopy of the tree intact is beneficial for me. However, this method has higher fail rates because the trunk is very thick and often times one will fail to cut deep enough to reach and expose the cambium. I actually bought a very sharp hunting knife for this. The one i am using in video i do not recommend any longer if your trunk is this wide.

      The mangos that look clean on the outside do not necessarily mean they are healthy. Mangos can have all sorts of extremely harmful chemicals sprayed onto them to make them look spotlessly clean and those will be the most unhealthy ones, very harmful to your body. But more majority of the humans looks are important in everything we choose in life, houses, cars, partners and i can go on. These mangos travelled from Florida to Missouri in a suitcase and stayed in an environment for ripening that i would not put them in FL. They developed spots because of that, the inside was tasty and good, and certainly very healthy. Health has nothing to do with looks, either in mangos or in humans. Amen!!

      some people dont really like complex taste, with a hint of spices or some kind of medicine. have u tasted the super galila variety? try come to the philippines and experience the mango festival in guimaras island. still carabao is one of the best tasting mangoes in the world as it smells and tastes like authentic mango.

      @@barrioboi14344 dude you completely misunderstand the term "complexity"! It's not the medicinal taste - who would like that? - and not even the spice. It's the same as complexity in wines; actually, good wine and good mango are very similar structurally. To understand what "complexity" really means, google this phrase: what-does-complexity-mean-in-wine. By the way, "authentic" mango is spicy - Indian varieties are the closest ones to it and are direct descendants, having lots of turpenes that make a mango spicy. South East Asian mangos have nothing to do with authenticity, they are just plain sweet and uninteresting. Try to come to Florida and taste 300 varieties, developed specifically for the complexity and uniqueness of their flavors. And try to watch old videos where he very carefully explains different flavors of many mangos sought after in the US and other countries, before pooping in comments.

      @@growpuravida I really hope you keep making videos, they are very informative (you have very educated taste buds) and I can't imagine why you would restrict yourself to only reviewing your own mangos.

    I live in Costa Rica and this year Iwas lucky enough to get a Giselle mango tree from Zill plantas, after watching a video on it. I wish we had more available varieties here IN CR.
