Your final comment was an error. Yiu said 1800 was the last time we had a President from one party and a Vice President from another party. I haven't done any research to see how many there were, but I do know that Abraham Lincoln offered an olive branch to the Democrats as a way to ease the tensions by appointing a Democrat as his running mate in his second term. But it was only for a month. He was VP from March 1865 until Lincoln's assassination in April of the same year.

I think if he’d grabbed a politician with favorability as a VP like A Senator Hawley for MO, Senator Kennedy from Louisiana, or the great Tulsi Gabard that would’ve helped Kennedy. But at the end of the day you’re voting for the president, the leader, not the backup assistant of the leader dies. And I think Shannan is a smart pick, campaigning isn’t cheap, you need foot soldier and a rich VP can fund those foot soldiers and a campaign. And on top of that, Nicole is young, smart, and understands that we need to keep an eye on AI in Silicon Valley and understands the tech side of things. I personally could give a shit less about developers for AI, I’m Midwest af, but it is a real threat to our jobs and the other two boomer dipshit canidates don’t have a clue about AI or any of our real threats. Trump put us $8 fucking trillion in debt, didn’t drain the swamp, he actually increased the swamp by hiring Pfizer board members, and he sure as shit didn’t “build the wall”, if so we wouldn’t still be talking about the millions coming across our border and the drugs flooding across our border 8 years later, since there’s no wall and trump is all talk just like Biden and every other politician. As someone who supported his campaign and watched it grow, it is one of the best campaigns i have seen in a long time. in the USA we vote for Presidential campaigns. I was sad to see VP Harris join the Biden campaign, it is a waste of her strengths. the DNC decimated his biggest challenger.

i also was disapointed in his pick for VP- she have no political experience! now they both have no inside political experience! i also can't let trump get in there again! thus i'll have to go with Biden- but its really not the individual pres. that runs the country - its the people they surround themselves with, their families and mostly the Party that runs the gov. and i can't let that go to Republicans since they are NOT environmentalists!

Issue with the polls is they've been very biased against 3rd parties. Ever since Kennedy polled 27% in some BG states I haven't seen a single poll with correct independent weighting (40-50%). This is important since it 1) more accurately reflects the election and 2) independents are RFK Jr's biggest base & most people are registered as independent. Also at least 2 of the pollsters (the one where he's at 2% for example) are extra manipulative because the question they asked voters was "who do you prefer, Trump or Biden" with no option for 3rd party candidates listed. Yet these surveys are used in the 5-way RCP average which makes no sense. Theirs other issues too that cropped up like no more 3 way matchups and convoluting the choices but I won't get into them. When reweighting the polls that actually listed all the candidates to accurately reflect the electorate RFK Jr does much better. The current electorate is 27% Democrat, 27% Republican, 43% Independent. After reweighting with some basic math some polls have Kennedy at 21%, the lowest being 16%. If you want to do this yourself you can use this equation: "46% x independents + 27% x Democrats + 27% x Republicans" do this for each candidate and you'll get a new more accurate total, this only works if the survey of course breaks down the votes into party affiliation. If you get "= 0.1847" that would be "18.47%" (43% independent, 3% 3rd party, 27% dem/repub registered in the country, that's where the % are from. Since theirs no 3rd party breakdown its better to add them to the independent list but you can just do 43% if you prefer)

I think you're spot on. RFK jr is hovering around 8-12% in every 3 way poll I've seen. No way does he peel off enough voters to win. It's really anyone's guess who he he will hurt more. A lot depends on what group he manages to offend or appease in the next few months. For what it's worth, Vegas has RFK jr at +2900. So if anyone really thought he'd win, you could make a lot of money by taking those odds.

Shanahan is a great choice for V.P. Harris is a joke as current V.P. And Trump's V.P. ???. The choice is clear Kennedy/Shanahan.
