£7.75 million to turn a wonderfully preserved Georgian townhall courthouse, a grade 2 listed building. Into a coffee/ cake and trinket shop. What a waste of money, it was supposed to replace the museum ( the building the council sold to posh developers) Supposed to display the archaeological artifacts, the Saxon, Norman, medieval, Tudor, . Yet its just some cabinet's with random things that have no explanation no order , nothing to explain the growth of the Saxon town of StAlbans after the people moved out of the old roman city verulamium.. It doesn't even have itd own dedicated room. Just stuff in a hallway between the cafe trinket shop and the one perfectly preserved courthouse, where people now sit drink spill hot beverages, ruining a building thst was a grade 2 listed protected building. Shocking, i feel embarrassed and ashamed Not surprised, its just so typical of the people who run our city , Where the hell did the £7.75 million pounds go ??? Who what why !? StAlbans has so many wonderful things, from post Roman era, 99% are all in storage, hidden away from a public ignorant of the reality of what imo is a shocking crime.
