I have a 1999 protege with the same problem, were you able to solve it?
Can you change the whole solenoid this way, or does the valve cover have to come off?
Come off
Thanks for sharing and great job man! I was trying to figure out where the THUMP noise was coming from and it was the Center Support Bearing its common issues with these cars apparently (pontiac G8 GT). Only thing that sucks is you have to drop the exhaust to move the heat shield to expose the driveshaft to check it and remove it.
Same process on a 2016 F150 5.0L. I screwed up the two new ones first time around. My recommendation, or maybe success story, was using a 21mm deepwell and a little hammer to tap on the center of the seal To get it started over the sensor. Then switchd to the 1-1/16 socket, short extension, and a pry bar under the battery box for leverage to push it home. Doesn’t seem like the old one had any sealant but I slapped a little hondabond on there for good measure. Hope this helps.
How much should a job like this cost
Wow! Looks and sounds good!
Por plise siempre anuncia que tipo de productos usas para que compremos los quimicos please
It’s the speed sensor
You got too have balls of steel to be running a RV with those Chinese tires.🫣
The name “thunderers” references the sound you hear when there’s a blowout 🤣
Very nice, can you tell us what is the name of this polish?
Do u any contact info I have 96 Cadillac Fleetwood that I’m trying to get done like your car
Speed sensor turbine
Use corn starch to take it off
Ramón Ulises Ochoa Gutiérrez bonito el bicho
Try out Flitz flannel domet buff balls. They are amazing! Last way longer and you can clean them too.
What are you spraying on at the beginning?
It is called Them Thangz.
Was looking all over for this. Thanks.
When you put the new ones in, did u use any kind of sealant or grease?
Wondering the same thing. I have a 2019 3.5 and all forums said valve cover needs to come off. This looks simple.
@Pro Tech Machinery Yeah, it does look simple. ua-cam.com/video/_K8kbqKxXJo/v-deo.html This is another video i found, and the guy said he doesn't use any kind of sealant or grease.
Looking for the 5.0 version of this, I assume it’s the same procedure? 2015 5.0
That was freakin amazing I immedaitely ordered a bottle!

nice
Have you done shock relocation on front and if so any suggestions
Got a cut behind air bag to bro did same job on my impala ss and blew a bag in front suspension
Worked like a charm.
I'm glad to hear. 😊
@@albert987123 Just curious if this works on a 2011 3.5 liter? Or does the valve cover have to come off? I checked and the seals are the same as the part number you have.
@@kitt199546 it should be the same
I'm having leaks like on all the bottom screws that hold the valve gasket together being covered in oil, could this be the cause? Bc both sides are leaking from these solinoids but it's not leaking down the engine
Any pic's of the front all the Way down. How tall was the upper cups. I have a 96 fleetwood 6 door I have the back done. Fixing to do the front
Hey Albert, I just viewed your eco boost VVT seal replacement video 14 hours fire you posted, (comments were disabled on it), but I wanted to thank you. F150 forum advise was to remove valve cover to replace. I bought seals today, to replace tomorrow. Perfect timing. I’m going to oil the seals before I press them in. Like you said, “not rocket science.” Thanks again.
Thank you for letting me know about the comments. It's fixed. I'm glad it helped, let me know how it works out. Thanks again
My 01 Mazda 626 es od light is flashing after I drive a few miles, and it hard shifts into 2nd. But there's no code for the transmission
I wonder, do you know if anyone sells these nose cone bushings because i can't seem to find them??
Having the same issue. Just did engine swap in mine everything is brand new except the transmission. First it was blinking o/d off (after a couple times driving it) and then turned the car off. Turned it back on and light was gone but still shifted the same. I bought solenoids to see if that fixes anything.
Update on the solenoids? When you get it done. I’m currently about to make the same decision.
update???
Did the solenoids fix it?
@@miguelzambrana6386 on my car it ended up being the range sensor that tells if its in park or drive, but just yesterday they rearended me. rip to my 01 protege
@@ericsanchez2121 dang rip was your transmission slipping? I go into drive and it wont go into gear and it also has a hard gear shifts while driving so many different things it could be its so frustrating
can somebody tell me, how to resolve the issue here?
I have a clunck when going in low speed smh
That woodgrain is an easy fix on the rear tailgate they sell 3M contact paper that matches on eBay. You can also get pontiac emblems there too
Thank you but that wagon is gone. My current one is a wood delete car. I put that car together with a bunch of parts I had laying around.
Dont forget the tailshaft is balanced and before you pull it apart. You should mark each piece with a paint pen or something, so it goes back together exactly how it was originally. Otherwise embrace yourself for some serious vibration. I know this because I have just encountered it and it also tells you this in your ve commodore workshop manual. Thats what the yellow paint dots are on your shaft for.. Just a heads up for anyone about to tackle the job.
Quality content
How did you get the driveshaft out of the rear end diff
Pretty good video except for reflection in window blocking some of what the pin box is doing. I'd suggest dropping pin box 2 holes also
No its not weird .. my daughter's g8 door is a damn fishbowl lol
Nice
I needed this cuz my started to vibrate when I accelerate will be replacing this week
Cool, buy the OEM part. It's not too difficult. Good luck
They don't always pull apart that easily. My VE SSV Commodore in Australia has the same componentry, and it required a specialist engineering shop to separate them last week. It's 13 yrs old, so possibly some corrosion in that splined joint.
If it slides in and out, it will come apart.
Anyone happen to know the Part Number for the Black Plastic Clips that hold the Chrome/Black Window Trim into the G8 SS/PPV Doors at all?
Great video, i was too scared to force it off till I saw you do it.
When your holding it in your hand looking down it the 2 ys are bother the same nearly? Mine are offset rn.
Hey buddy the yokes on the ends of the shaft are suppose to face the same way eh??? Are your weights in a straight line too??? Think guy that had my car before spun shaft halfway around
Can't, one is longer than the other. The center support will not line up
No I mean I like yours has both the ends pretty much alligned. Like the one end y is up and is you other end one. I'm wondering if someone's had mine out and put it back together wrong
@@ryanrobitaille5903 that doesn't matter. It is not keyd to be lined up in any way. Where the trans output coupler is in relation to the rear diff coupler does not matter. The 2 things that matter is which wat the support is in relation to the front and rear of the shaft and the front and rear of the shaft.
great video mate ,tailshaft is same as my 2006 sv6 vz commodore, done the whole thing no more vibrations and clunks, thanks from gav down under.
