Thanks for your video it came in hand I ended up buying more but this gave me the idea to do a pre wash just using a glass jar with the recycled isopropyl alcohol give a min light shake take out then put in the wash an cure machine I've gone through around 1L of resin since an my wash tub is still clear. Hope this helps you that bit more

Does the brand of FEP really matter?

They now sell these magnetic baseplates for msla printers , using a 175x55mm on the mars ultra. Its smaller than original plate but you use two it like two sided tape applying the magnet and it has a thin plate for bending like ender printer down build plates. Which eliminated build plate scratches. Perfect prints. Easy cleaning. Around $20 CAD on the web. Only downside is you loose about 2mm in z axis build volume. Cheers hope this helps .

You can get an industrial scanner but they cost any where from 2k all the way up to like 130k

It is so important to wear gloves while handling the build plate and FEP. The resin stays in the grooves and could still get on your skin without your knowledge.

Just going to point out youd need one hell of a mask to stop solvent fumes! Dont waste your time and money looking stupid here! If your just doing a few open a window/door and once its out of the wash just leave it to dry and go to annother room. If your doing this professionally then consider fume extraction.

I almost exclusively use water washable resin for the last 3 years, here is what i have for anyone who thinks they want it. The details are better than other resin's, it flows smoother and doesn't separate so i have left resin in my printer for months and just started a print up one day and came out fine, use a raft the parts are brittle till cured and if over cured, it doesn't have much of a smell and i can use it in a room im in with just a box fan keeping air moving. Happy printing

One of my biggest fails was when I first bought my Mars 2 Pro. I spent 2 days changing printer settings before eventually realizing I never removed the plastic from the FEP film. Second biggest fail would be the number of times I've forgoten to even put the build plate back on when cranking out back to back to back prints. #8 Was hilariously applicable to me. I very much fall into the camp of having "files of shame". There's just so many models, toys, and tools that I'd LOVE to bring to life!

8:45 It happened to me twice in a row.. 😅 I stoped the print and cleaned the plate, put the plate on the place while cleaning other areas and forgot to lock it again 😅

As for "it isn't just plug and play" I got lucky and everything worked perfectly, once I did forget to tighten the build plate, but that's about the only problem I've had so far 40+ pieces in

My favourite so far (after a week) is forgetting to secure the VAT! Came back to the printer after a half-hour print to find the build plate lifted to the"finished" position, with the vat still attached to the plate! 🤪

Distillation is not inherently dangerous, but you need to have some sensible precautions and procedures in place. I've been using a cheap the water distiller to reclaim IPA and it works perfectly- the IPA comes out absolutely clear. Set up your distiller outdoors and away from structures and make sure that it's well sealed. You may need to use some sealing tape around the distiller head to ensure a good seal. Other than that just set it up, let it run, and you'll end up with crystal clear IPA. With that said, I recommend people use whatever method they're comfortable with and whatever works for them.

A few things that works for me. First I do not clean the supports as it just gets your IPA dirty faster. Second I use 2 baths of IPA prior to the wash and cure station, you will have just one really dirty IPA to clean often and the other ones can be used over a longer period of time. Third, to clean the dirty IPA, I expose it to UV over a long period of time in a closed container (a bottle is fine), then I filter it through a kitchen towel, why? because the coffee filters are too thin and gets clogged so fast... The advantage of the towel is that, when all the liquid goes through, it leaves this gewy slimy residue that you can squeeze to get as much IPA as possible out. It leaves a solid cured plastic on the towel. Let it dry and you can remove it in one bloc so the towel can be reused again. Then you can filter it with the coffee filter, it will be way way faster :)

Mistake #1 : buying a resin 3D printer

on a serious note the ipa would be worse than the actual resin 3d printer's smell. like fume wise i would be better off connecting ducting and an inline fan for my ipa container than my resin 3d printer 😭

Fellow Aussie here, yeah I've just found out printing in winter sucks. Where I am it's like 0°c or lower, during the day it's around 8-12°c glad it's something like the weather that's the reason for failed prints today, unfortunately I don't like the idea of a 12+ print going in winter even with a heater going.

this was a bad video, but hopefully he learns if making more....first 1 year ago, resin is already sky rocketing in peoples favorite way of 3d prints....second you only said negative more or less negative things about resin and positives about fdm, you forgot the negatives of fdm,.....anyhow...

Every print takes me 2 hours. I have zero idea where to start. So i tryed tons of exposures... I am doing this for more than a week and I am still trying! How cool it was if people could get a list of there printer and the resin they are using. And no, there are no lists for my printer/resin, i looked everywhere.

its more optimal when you don't need a resistor. I got 12v 405nm UV LED's from amazon. If your power source is 12v you don't need a resistor. I have a DC splitter for a 12v power supply that powers 9 of these LED's that I stick into my models.

When I'm working on my cars, my rule is to never put a bolt in place unless I'm going to tighten it. Use the same rule for your build plate and you won't ever leave it loose.
