I’m new to rec room

i'm definitely more nihilistic on the matter, but for me its because of the ceasing RRO releases (and what we do get being maker penned), the incessant UI changes that just serve to give me frame drops, the clear and blatant focus on screen players, how buggy the games gotten (i often get softlocked when i try to join paintball), the loss of artstyle/theme and the weird fucked up lore, as well as the focus going from making a fun game to making money off of UGC.

My answer: Because it wasn’t riddled with micro transactions and communis-

They definitely did fix the carousels / algorithm for UGC maps and I'm so relieved. I'm personally excited to hop on for a lot of map exploration today. Everyone loves to complain about Rec Room (myself included sometimes 😅) But fail to give them credit for how many things they DO take into account and change when the community requests it. Rec Room is like a slightly dysfunctional family. I'm not going to disown them over the few things that I dislike because the good outweighs the bad at the end of the day.

This video makes me want to try playing rec room again. I started playing late 2016-early 2017 and a couple years back I had stopped enjoying the game because of how they pretty much stopped creating new content themselves. I should definitely see what the game has to offer now and see if I can enjoy it again. The quests will always be my favorite part of the game no matter what though. If anyone wants to play the game with me and run a quest or two please reply!! Awesome video dude. Great editing and all. I can't wait to try and pick the game up again

I started back in 2020 like april i think i stopped playing when prices for items went up and recroom got gready with money it drained the fun of playing

For me, Rec Room has definitely gotten worse, but it hasn't gotten THAT bad. I, and so many other people, miss the friends we used to play with who we associated with the game. All of my closest friends that I met in 2019 or 2020 have stopped playing which made the game feel dead, but there are still just as many people playing. Although Rec Room isn't as bad as many people believe it to be, there's a reason so many people quit playing.

Hi. someone who joined December 31st 2017. I miss the old rec room because the double shot was much cleaner. less buggy. less issues surrounding it. if you frame dropped (lagged for the common folk) your arrows would still work rather than drop to the floor. Crashing wasnt a thing and the menu wouldnt freeze your game for several seconds. Tokens werent a thing so you could earn actual clothing items via golden trophy etc. through the chest. I understand tokens were a means to get people to spend money on the game so im not faulting them for that. there was no stuttering in Rec Room either. overall in the past rec room was a less buggy fun game where theyd add new quests every few months. Now its full of bugs and stutters/crashes but at least the token store works 100% :D

Rec Room Has been really good and listening to the community more recently. They are trying to aim for 1-2 RRO's Every year While at the same time putting out small RRO's such as ^BonkysInferno or ^EvergrownPVP which have a different spin on Current RRO's which I think is really cool and they should attempt to do something similar with other RRO's. Great job recently Rec Room <3

People miss old things because they don’t think stuff changes. People will say “I miss the old you” when you do something that isn’t defined as “you.” Once you become something new, people will bring up the old you.

ever since they added cross platform I feel like the game lost a part of what made it special. Branching out to platforms that aren’t vr makes sense from a company standpoint but constantly running into 5 year olds with their moms phone instead of people in full vr which you can connect with and interact with just ruined it for me

I would say the #1 thing loved about Rec Room is before Facebook destroyed VR.

Just a real quick correction, RR recently added double shot back and added crescendo to Meta quest 2, don’t know about the prices though.
